I still had squeaks with Krytox 205 2 weeks after applying to rear window seal. Guess it dried out or dispersed. I bought 204, same thing, just lower viscosity, haven’t had squeaks for a month now. For whatever that’s worth to anyone. Still seems oily on the rubber.
On the very rare occasion I clean it: Chemical guys everything. Pre wash, foam, waterless wash for touching up spots, and tire shine. I have used over a dozen of their products, and the only one I didn’t care for or found to be mediocre was the interior UV spray, too streaky. The rest are superb.
Tell me about your clamp. I have similar setup, a kuat NV 2.0 and a pivot. It’s sturdy as is, but when I have my Santa Cruz and then add my NV add on, there’s 4 bikes at 220lbs or so and it bounces on the Highway. Still sturdy, but I would like to firm it up more. What does your clamp screw into?
It’s not crazy. I pay $113, State Farm. 300/100/100, $500 ded on collision, $0 ded on comp. I’m 28, no accidents. Shop around though.
Bit of a tidbit you didn’t ask for, BUT….imo, a lower premium with a company who has mediocre to terrible service is not worth it.
For me, State Farm has always...
Yes, it blocks the right side sensors even if you remove the rack, causing incessant beeping. It’s a pain in the butt, I just always silence it, and you could make it stop with forscan, that’s just beyond my intelligence.
Yeah that’s the one I saw, it’s like the kuat, just not curved at the end, but appears like it’s gonna have that same audible click to know it’s in place, which is not an insignificant detail really. I had one fall off because it was a flush lock and didn’t have that click. Also, the curved ones...
You can buy Kuat locking pins at almost any bike shop that has their racks. They are HEFTY. Quick Amazon search and they also have curt ones on there, look satisfactory. Don’t forget one for your rack to the extender as well (my 1up single didn’t come with one).
Also, didn’t ask…but the Kuat...
Another vote for Kuat NV 2.0 and Pivot V2. Solid, never ever had issues.
Had a 1up tray, just wasn’t a fan of how it was sketchy holding a standard 29er. Flopped too much for my liking.
