I have written here before: I expect the fall out at 50%. However, that still means 90,000 pre-sold Broncos for Ford. I was in the auto business for 45 years, on both the manufacturer and dealer side, and I have never seen anything like this. Congrats to Ford! I hope they can generate this...
Agree totally. It's a product life cycle extender tactic. Start at 310 hp...down the road 2 model years...KAPOWY! The new 2024 Bronco! Now 325 hp! (Rebate now $3,000, 0% financing, etc etc)
How about a nice ride, and a quiet interior? We will have a stiff, controlled ride. Also, wind and tire noise , although to us it will sound like a pretty girl whispering in our ear.
I live in South Florida (Hot as Hell, no snow, hills, mud, etc...all roads level and straight) I'm going to order white body and white hard top. Will look great with white mirrors, door handles, and fender flares. Love the standard wheel. Also ordering Top Sound Dead, High Package (More sound...
I just spent another hour on B&P. I have an excel spread sheet comparing the bottom line MSRP of all 7 Bronco models, 4 door, with standard engine, auto trans, optional Hard top, opt top sound dead, opt mud flaps, and opt wheel locks. I have another excel doc with the same columns, except...
How about...angle down the rear of the roof and rear window to follow the contours of the inner metal sport bar... sort of "fast back" look...Would keep inner crash/rollover structure intact. However, less storage inside, more frost on sloping rear window, etc.
Look what happened to TFL (YouTube) on their 2nd (!!!) Defender when the (Hack job...) Dealer tried to install the winch. Dealer Tech (Owner's drug addict son...?) chopped into the wiring harness....and VEHICLE A TOTAL WRECK. TFL on Defender #3 now....Better be careful who installs your winch.
I find this video fascinating. Every crease, hole, and weld is there for a reason. And then an assembly plant has to build it, the same way every time, with no variance. I think we forget what a huge project this is. Two sized vehicles, 2 engines, 2 transmissions, 2 transfer cases, 8 different...
It is interesting to think, from a business standpoint, what the "fallout" is going to be from the 165,000 (Or so...) reservations booked so far. My gut estimate is at least 50% "fallout," due to: 1. Job 1 now delayed until summer 2021; 2. Top colors delayed, probably summer 2022; 3. Man Trans...
