  1. Buy or Lease Poll?

Leasing is for folks who always have a car payment, so it's best to have the lowest payment and least down payment. Leasing is less cost than buying and trading it in every few years and never paying the vehicle off. Buying is the only thing to do if you plan to keep the vehicle and pay it off...
  2. First Group @ Moab Off-Roadeo: Bronco Drive Notes & Video

Nice pic going down Long Canyon. Was there two months ago and one day did Gemini Bridges out to the highway, then went down Long Canyon to Potash Rd and back to town along the river. Nice day. I came back through Moab least week and got to tour the Off Rodeo facility and check out the Broncos...
  3. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Seriously? Did you see all the responses that I liked, from people saying why they want a manual? Sorry, your info isn't accurate. Some people assumed I was only pro automatic, so I responded, and some people made comments that I chose to respond back. My choice. Besides, why not at least have...
  4. Dealer not selling me my Bronco

You have never said if you were going to title it to yourself, then wait to get the title, then resell it on ebay. No problem with doing that, but you would have to wait till everything cleared and you had a title in hand. This also means you would have to pay cash for the Bronco so you could...
  5. Dealer not selling me my Bronco

How can you sell something on ebay that you don't have a title to? You can't get a title until you pay the taxes and fees and it gets processed through your states DMV to get the title. If you're trying to get the dealer to sell it to you without paying taxes and fees and just immediately...
  6. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Wow! Total difference of opinion here. In traffic at a stop...foot was on brake to stop, foot stays on brake, foot releases brake a little to creep forward, repeat. Traffic with an auto is a no brainer.....sounds like that is just the point of those favoring manuals, driving an auto is just too...
  7. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Lots of great reasons to buy it with a manual. And a good discussion. Some assumed I was an auto only guy from posting the question, which isn't true. Like I said, my track race car is a stick, my collectors edition pick up is a stick, my F450 is a stick. My Jeeps are autos, my buggy is an auto...
  8. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Sure......and thousands of others. Like I said, for rough dirt roads and exploring it makes no difference, but for hard technical stuff the auto has a clear advantage. Not saying it can't be done with a stick, just that the auto is better. Tons of evidence if we want to go that far. Competition...
  9. What's your back-up plan?

Already have two Jeeps. Just keep them until the Bronco comes in. No rush.
  10. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Of course. Don't we come to forums like this for a little bit of info and a whole lot of entertainment? Just a fun discussion. If not fun, then......
  11. Vegas Off-Rodeo - Who's Going

I will be going Sept 19. I'll be in my motorhome towing my enclosed trailer with my rock buggy, on my way to Sand Hollow UT. I have a call in to them and they are checking if there is room to park my rig there. If I can't drive there in my motorhome, I'll have to figure out what the heck I'll...
  12. Vegas Off-Rodeo - Who's Going

Didn't the info say there would be a shuttle from the hotel? Maybe I assumed that.
  13. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

My track race car is a manual. My rock buggy is an auto. My F450 is a manual. My Jeeps are auto. I can go both ways, depending on what is best for the purpose of that particular vehicle. I don't need to justify my personal preference with insults, nor am I silly enough to think one choice is...
  14. 22’ For-sure Get BD Instead of BaseSquatch…

Ok, didn't see that and I get your point. Leaves a lot of room open for what they will actually do. What, exactly, does "similarly equipped" mean? Does it mean same model? Does it mean BD non-SAS to BaseSAS? Does it mean BD SAS to BL non-SAS? Does it mean original MSRP with a certain percentage...
  15. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

What about the clutch? And clutch master? And clutch slave? And release (throw out) bearing? Clutch job on a 4wd isn't cheap. Just sayin'. I get the point, but "it depends" also applies.
  16. 22’ For-sure Get BD Instead of BaseSquatch…

They didn't say you couldn't either, just said price protected based on date. There won't be a person sitting there looking at each order, the system computer is going to do it. It will look at the reservation/order date, won't even have a history of what the original order was. I think it is...
  17. 22’ For-sure Get BD Instead of BaseSquatch…

And a disco sway bar on a SAS.
  18. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

If you know how to do it, sure. Jeeps and off road cars don't have the same pedal locations as sports cars, but yes. Enjoy the yard and dump. 🍻
  19. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Hopefully it's low enough. Too be determined. Odds lessen as tire sizes go up. This is one advantage of the Jeep Rubicon with the 4 to 1 tcase gear. But, the 4 to 1 can sometimes be too low for general low range driving. Ford actually did a good thing with the 3 to 1 tcase and crawler gear in...
  20. Curious Why it Seems so Many People Want a Manual Trans?

Part of the key is the transition from taking your right foot off the brake and applying the gas. If the left foot is on the brake there is no transition. Also could not be controlled with a manual, as there isn't a foot to hold the brake as the clutch is released and gas applied.
