Seems to be the case for everyone, but I've heard some grease could help. I would recommend the Honda shin etsu grease as it seems to be the best one available from what I've seen. I have some in my garage but haven't tried using it yet

Normally when somebody has a seal that looks like that they also have excessive with noise in that location. I would try to make them replace it, especially if you're having that issue as well
