Sounds awesome... but it's not available without the mid level package. I wanted the mid level but wasn't going to be bullied out of a manual transmission that isn't available with the mid level package. One more way Ford has decided to screw over people who want a manual transmission.

I noticed this too when I placed my order last month. The dealer told that Ford removed it from the BD standard package and it would have to be added if I wanted it.

I always work on my own vehicles. I'll only ever take it back for warranty work.

Well $!##. This straight up sucks. Ford is shooting itself in the foot and pissing off customers like me with this move.

No different than my 87 Bronco. My wife will be riding in the front when she isn't driving. Don't care about the back seats and might even remove them.

When is Ford going to fix B&P for the obvious errors like not allowing manual transmission with a mid level package?

What if you don't have X plan for Two Rivers? Are they offering invoice pricing without X plan?

You misunderstood me. I will not be bullied into buying an automatic transmission. I want the mid package but I will not be spending way more money that I do not have on a higher trim level just to get a few more minor options through Ford. I will spend less than intended.

^this^ I've tried several times over the last few days hoping for an update to fix it but it won't let me select mid package with a manual transmission. Dear Ford, I will not buy an automatic transmission. You are forcing me to spend less money by not allowing a manual with mid package.

^This^ U-Haul checked their spec books and rented me double axle car dollies to tow two different cars with my 87 Bronco. I'm disappointed that Ford is rating the new Bronco at half the capacity of my old one for towing, but the new Bronco will have almost twice the power!

Very good to hear if true. I've never special ordered a new vehicle before and the last new car I bought was in 2004, so I all this is really unfamiliar ground. I just want a BD manual with mid package. Don't see why that should be so difficult.

I don't doubt it will be a seriously capable rig and I am excited about getting one. It's just that I already own one more than 30 years old and will be able to tow more with it than a brand new one. Seems like a step back.

So the big question is, what will the GVWR be, and why would it be so low on a purpose built SUV that a roof rack and some bigger tires may be enough to tip the scales too far?

Right, and the new Ranger with the 2.3 has a 7500 tow rating. Its absurd that the Bronco is hamstrung with half the rating.

The GVWR thing is just complete BS on Ford's part. There is no way a suspension or transmission choice should ever exceed GVWR. It's just ridiculous. Of course that would go hand in hand with the horribly low tow rating. Ford should be ashamed of this fiasco.

Totally unacceptable. I'm getting a manual transmission. I will not be bullied into getting an auto just so I can have completely unrelated upgrades like footwell lights, AC power outlet, and heated seats. This is absurd. What you can get elsewhere shouldn't have anything to do with what Ford heavily advertised you could get from them. I'm special ordering a vehicle from the manufacturer, not piece-mealing something through the mail. I can and do work on and install what I want on my vehicles on my own. This is...
