I had not thought about scratches too much until this comment. Probably because I will not be doing any serious off-roading the vehicle for a couple of years. Perhaps paint protection film would alleviate any scratch concerns?

FYI - It appears GAIA doesn't fully support Android phones. When I tried to use some of the features it said not supported on this device. It could be I am doing something wrong, but have not had much of a chance to take a further look.

I don't think there is any advantage getting it in early expect maybe piece of mind knowing this part is done.

You make a good point. Now that I think about it more. Instead of a slide out tailgate, the aftermarket may produce something like slid out drawers taking using the same amount of space as the tailgate. This may be a better option for those wishing to overland. You would get the lift to match...

I don't think I will need the 2.7. I was only considering adding it as it's just $250 more after adding automatic trans. The noise reduction and the ability to store cargo on top is more important to me.

Budget is not an issue for me, but I am sticking with the 2.3 and no SAS because I want the roof sound deadening and roof rack. If I knew these could be had shortly after delivery I would go with the 2.7. I just dont think they will be available for a year or more later.

Going with A51. Originally it was Iconic Silver. But after seeing the overland concept pics, I switched. I know it will be popular and will see a lot of them on the road. I just think it works well with the MIC.

Get the 4-door BL with High package, MIC, tow, roof rack, with 10 speed Auto. My only hold up is the color. I like the iconic silver as I feel this will be timeless. I also like Area 51 as I think it works well with the MIC and grill. I would just like to see it in person.

Can you really paint the top? I have no knowledge in this area, but due to what appears to be a textured surface. It appears like it would be hard to paint.

Hopefully many places. If I get it before it gets too cold next year, I plan on taking a week long trip through the northeast with my girl, camping gear, and mountain bike.

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like there is a port further back to connect a rack. Could it be due to the length between the front and rear would be too long for the support beams?
