I did almost the exact same thing with an AL plate and a Blue Sea Systems solenoid wired to the up fitter switches. Works great!

I have been loving mine! I'm running 10 on rock and have got down to 1.5 on snow. Its amazing what the truck will do in the snow at those pressures!
