Got a call from my dealer that the Eruption Green Black Diamond I ordered on 8/28/23 arrived today. I’m planning to take delivery on Monday. Considering the UAW strike, the holidays, the weather, and a thirteen day train ride, five months from order to delivery seems reasonable.

I am considering these tires, particularly a C-rated 285/75R17 when they become available. However, according to the size chart from Falken’s website, the C-rated tire weighs .5 pounds MORE than the equivalent E-rated. Am I looking at this correctly? Does this seem unusual?

I’m probably mistaken but I thought I remembered a statement claiming these would be somewhat lighter in weight when released. Seems the entire line is noticeably heavier, at least in the 17’s.

I would definitely try another dealer. It took me three dealers before I was able to successfully place an order for a ‘24 Black Diamond 2 door. Apparently it was due to allocation issues.

I’ve been wondering about this as well. I recall from August a couple of commentators vaguely mentioned an improvement to the materials used in the interior for ‘24, particularly the plastics. It certainly would not be a dealbreaker if not implemented, but I’m curious nonetheless.
