when I get a new bronco, it will likely be only for crappy weather. between the 2 FSBs, one am ud truck, the motorcycles, and the mustangs, it'll be for rainy days..which are most days down here. the wife's 4dr will be a daily driver though.
We, most of us, who want V8s understand that. And also know that a modern I4 TT can outperform a stock classic V8. And the 2.7 V6 TT can outperform by slightly built 351W in my 86. (but not the very built stroked 460 in my 82).
But we still want an 8 for.....reasons.....
And I only spend...
I actually found a pretty decent 86 bronco, it is not my DD, has been pretty good so far, I've put more miles on it in the last month and a half than it has seen in the last 10 years. paid under 5k for it, have maybe 600 into it in bearings, u-joints, window motors and such.
don't. go 2dr. man, you can drive a 2dr on 44s with 15" rims on the interstate at 70 all day long. it really is not bad as long as you take care of bushings and bearings.
I've done road trips on 44s. it is all about the tread pattern and sidewall height and thickness. a taller tire will feel softer and wander a bit more. a deeper tread will belouder. thicker sidwall will be stiffer ride and wander less. I use to DD on 37s, was no issue doing 130+
yes, just a few more minutes till I can go outside and start up that cammed and stroked 351W in my little bronco.
it's not exactly fast, but it sounds like it!
as one of the previous highest reaction scores until after the reveal and I've nearly disappeared from the site (only because I am not a first year buyer, I like it, I want one to go with the rest of my Broncos and Mustangs), it just happens. At least if you post useful and insightful or...
yeah, sorry, trying to swear off forums while at work, especially now that thing are picking up a little bit. and I don't get on boards too much while at home unless I am trying to figure out how to fix something on one of my many race red cars/broncos/trucks/bikes.
