  1. Winter/Summer Tires (traction/fuel economy)

As stated by @VelocityBrew , if you get a set of all-terrains that include the snowflake in the mountain rating, you have a really good compromise. My favorite tire for that is the BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2. You can run them year round and they will provide true all-terrain performance...
  2. On Board Air? Power tank verses ARB twin compressor. Opinions Please

If it takes 80 minutes, I think you're using the wrong compressor. I run E-rated tires and it takes several minutes per tire, maybe. A Viair OBA system fills a 35" tire from 15 to 30 psi in 2:45 min/sec, with 150 psi. I guess if you're running a dually, with a 5th wheel toy hauler filled with...
  3. 2022 Outback Wilderness

@Ricepuddin The Outback is just the first of the models to include the Wilderness trim. @Thed The Wilderness edition has different suspension, the CVT is re-mapped, the X-mode is re-calibrated, the final drive ratio is lower, the ground clearance is higher, approach, departure and breakover...

It's a quote from Shakespeare. Means you secretly love Subaru.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
  6. 2022 Outback Wilderness

    Ditto. I'm surprised every year.

  8. Municipal fleet duty

I'm pretty sure they'll list the Bronco, but if we can't order it, they may not for at least a year, or they'll list the price but we still won't be able to get one.
  9. Municipal fleet duty

We don't have access to the Bronco yet, just the Sport.
  10. 2022 Outback Wilderness

Kind of crazy the Subaru has about the same power as the Bronco, better final drive ratio (4.44:1) (when the Bronco is equipped with an auto trans), and better breakover angle, better mileage and the same tow rating. I think Subaru hit it out of the park,.
  11. Percentage of users that really need Badlands? (edit correction)

The point of forums is to share our business with people, whether they care of not.

One of the cool things is this is the first of the "Wilderness" trims for other models. They'll probably have a Crosstrek Wilderness model, with slightly taller stance and better ground clearance. So many people are already building these anyway.

It'll be funny getting to the end of the trail, to the most remote "secret" campground after a few hours of "hard" wheeling to see that your secret spot was taken by a woman driving an Outback Adventure who just happened to hit the road an hour before you.
  14. Percentage of users that really need Badlands? (edit correction)

I'll use every bit of the capability every few weekends. I'll likely break things on harder trails and may flood the vehicle crossing creeks.
  15. Debating hard top or soft?

Depends. Ground beef, go hard shell. Carne asada, go soft.

I think they make what is practical, and most people like some sort of bling, whatever that is to each of us. A Subaru makes more sense than most sports cars, SUV, trucks, for a lot of people. Yeah, some of us will need to pick up a refrigerator some time, but most of us have it delivered...
