  1. Bronco Owners Going Soft?

I tend to agree with the OP...until I try some of the more modern conveniences. I had to drive some distance at night last year in a rental vehicle. My current truck doesn't have adaptive cruise control nor auto switching high beams, if I had never used them, I would have said they're a waste of...
  2. First SUV will be a Bronco. What should I know?

To me a 4wd mid size SUV is the most useful vehicle made. Able to get around in all weather except the very worst, able to carry quite a bit; 4 or 5 adults + some cargo, able to do some off roading, better mileage than a full size, easier to find a parking space than a full size or a truck...
  3. Is FCA getting nervous? Publishes Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler Info Sheet Guide

That's a pretty pathetic effort if it's really by Jeep. The only part of that marketing I'd agree with is Jeep has been making great off road vehicles while the Bronco has been absent. The fold down windshield; I've never gotten. I've never seen a single Wrangler anywhere with the windshield...
  4. Sustainability and Longevity (100K+ miles)

Anyone who has a major concern with sustainability probably should choose the Bronco Sport over the regular Bronco. None of the regular Broncos will get any kind of decent fuel economy in actual use. There's talk of some sort of hybrid later, but we don't yet know exactly what it will be or when...
  5. Toyota brethren

I've been driving a 17' Tacoma DCSB OR v6 auto for the last 3 years. With the trd intake, exhaust, OV Tune 92 oct., ect button always on, stock size tires, the motor is barely adequate. The Ford 2.7l eb from what I'm reading has been very reliable, been around a few years, and seems to be much...
  6. Bronco vs. Wrangler: Who cares?

Beautiful truck, congratulations. I like the Gladiators, I pass them all the time. ?
  7. Ram trying to steal some thunder...

How could any sort of truck or off road guy (or gal I guess) not like the TRX? The baddest factory off roader made (or maybe future baddest, current Raptor still has the title for now). 700 something hp!? Quarter mile 12 something!? 10 times cooler than any Wrangler or any Bronco I've ever seen.
  8. Bronco vs. Wrangler: Who cares?

I don't see how someone could like the new Bronco, and not like the Wranglers. The 4 doors in particular are very, very similar, the exterior and interior dimensions are all within inches of each other, the payloads and tow capacities are almost identical, looks like Ford saw a good thing and...
  9. Ram trying to steal some thunder...

Hats off to Ram for making an incredible truck; everything on it upgraded, 0-60 4.5, quarter mile 12.9, thing looks really awesome. This has got to be the best time in history for an automotive enthusiast. I have no need of a TRX, but it's impressive. The video of the T-rex chomping the raptor...
  10. Why are you choosing 2 or 4 door Bronco? Which will have better resale value?

I'd still buy the 4 door even if I intended to do more difficult offreading, which I almost certainly won't. Have you all seen the videos of the Bronco SPORT, I think in Moab? 99% of the mid size Bronco owners will never do anything as tough as what that video shows the Sport doing.
  11. Why are you choosing 2 or 4 door Bronco? Which will have better resale value?

4 door, no kids, but dogs, + the 4 door will be a much better tow vehicle than the 2 door. Not a hard core off roader, I'll go with the 32" tires, have no interest in the 2 door.
  12. Windshield rock magnet?

The JL windshield is at more of an angle than the JK, anyone know if the new Bronco windshield is a bit more angled than the JL? I think so, maybe it won't be so bad.
  13. Top speed limiter AKA Governor

Chartman, sorry my friend, I just don't agree. Here in the bay area, 80 is a typical highway speed, 90+ not uncommon. Many less urban areas of California can be driven well over 90 for long periods when there's little or no traffic. No, not a 35" tire vehicle, but for most modern typical...
  14. Suspension rear air bags for better towing capacity

Air bags or sumo springs can definitely make a tow vehicle much more stable, as others have said they don't change the manufacturers official tow ratings.
  15. My pics of Bronco exterior and some interior looks from Moab

Thanks Stereo; you the man. Great work, I like real world photos. Looking forward to some day seeing the Bronco in person. Best wishes.
  16. Anybody else getting over the initial hype?

Was never on board with the hype, still aren't. I like the new Bronco, price isn't an issue, but there's a lot we still don't know. I personally don't get how anyone can "reserve" a vehicle they don't know everything about, there's no need to "reserve" anything, that's just Ford marketing BS. So...
  17. My pics of Bronco exterior and some interior looks from Moab

Thanks very much Stereo, great work. If I may ask Stereo; how tall are you? The photos look like the camera, which I assume was at your eye as the pictures were taken, is about even with the top of the Bronco's with the large tires. I thought the tops of the Bronco's with the larger tires were...
  18. What about the highway driving experience?

Sort of already a thread on this: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/road-manners-ride-quality-of-new-2021-bronco.2033/
  19. What would be a realistic towing capacity?

Didn't know the new Defender was up around 8k lbs tow capacity, that does make the Bronco look quite a bit worse. Even the Audi Q5 is rated tow 4400 lbs I think, yes, I know "not an off road vehicle". Maybe Ford could up the tow rating for the 4 door Bronco's with the smaller factory tires? 3500...
  20. So only 15.8 MPG?

Mpg of the 2.7l Bronco is something I've been wondering about, I don't really care, I tend to drive quickly and get poor mileage, but there's not much else to do right now about the Bronco. A 2020 F150 XLT v6 crew cab, short bed, 4wd supposedly weighs around 4900+ lbs, yes, I know it varies...
