Bummer. I thought you might explain why the ecoboost V6 isn't offered on the F250s either. It's almost as if they might have limits after all.

They stopped making NA engines decades ago? I can't believe I missed that. Why don't they put the 2.3L in the F150? They are the same weight, or even a little less than the 4door bronco. Why are they putting a (20 year old?) 3.3L NA V6 in them?

I wasn't making a Toyota reliability argument. I was just saying I'd like a 180hp NA V6, and referenced a Toyota I used to own.

Pound for pound the 4door Bronco looks like the same size as a F150, if not a little heavier, but Ford doesn't offer the 2.3L turbo in the F150....

You can't have the squatch and the 7 speed is the thing... You can't have a V6 and the 7 speed... I suppose you could pair the automatic with the 2.3L and add the squatch, but that doesn't give me butterflies.

The squatch should cost less as an upgrade on the badlands, as it only adds a lift and 35s. The rest of the cost will come from the engine and trans upgrade.... I don't want the 35s or the lift so the badlands is almost perfect. Just need the ability to have the V6 paired with the 7speed.

Exactly. I want a slow, reliable truck! Someone is finally catching on. I'd rather see a NA V6 with 180hp (that 99 tacoma) than the boosted 4. The fuel economy would probably be the exact same.

Don't get it twisted, this was never a worry about lack of power. But currently a Subaru Forester, which I'm totally happy with. But over the years too many to count. One of my favorites was an 88 Ford Bronco II. Such a piece of shit, but it never left me stranded and I beat the ever living...

To be fair, "everyone" is not telling me the 2.3 is bulletproof. And circling back to my OP I am leaning toward it since I am only interested in the 2door, and really want the 7 speed. I'll have to learn more about the GOAT modes and price of the 'squatch package before I make the final call. Oh...

It's not the power I question, its the durability. I'm quite used to driving underpowered 4 bangers. They get the job done. But I'm also not in a machine anything like what this looks to be. With all that power being squeezed out of that little guy I question how long it will hold up. Seems like...

One, I've never even considered a modern jeep mostly due to the engine options. If I'm going to get 16 miles to the gallon in a compact vehicle it better haul ass. Two, these broncos just look so much bigger than Jeeps.

How does that look pushing 5,000lbs through an overbuilt 4x4 system on 35inch off-road tires? I'm not a tuner, I'd like something I can just weld the hood shut on.....

Or, I could ask what other peoples thoughts are. The last time I bought a brand new vehicle was a 1999 Toyota Tacoma. If I do buy a new Bronco, I will drive it into the ground. Ideally that would be 10 plus years from now.
