Speed limit shows up in the drivers cluster, next to the digital speed readout. Correct, can’t put in an address or search for anything.

My connected nav expired and the speed limit still shows up in the cluster. Also the map will still display, but won’t do any routing or search.

^This. It sounds like the dealer isn't allowed to ask for a $3k deposit or whatever to convert your order. As discussed in the various surprise ADM threads, I think anti-trust law prevents Ford from dictating the selling price.

Just out of curiosity, I looked it up. TOMTOM offers a phone app for $25/yr that includes offline mapping capabilities and AA and CarPlay capability. So it should be the same quality as Ford NAV for 1/3rd the price. Or you can get a standalone unit with maps and traffic updates for $125. And...

Also where is your phone? Mine would occasionally drop if I had it in my left pocket. It seemed to do better when I had it in my right pocket, in the center cubby hole, or even up on the dash.

I have 2x 90deg turns to enter my subdivision, and when it snows I like to switch off ESC and try to hang the back out. With 4A on (ESC-off) it's pretty difficult to do. Very effective AWD system. 2H ESC off is great fun though :)

This does add insult to injury though. The cell modem is already active for FordPass. They just want to charge $80/year to run maps over it.

Honestly I don’t think there is any difference in the hardware. Look at the high package. You can get it with connected only or connected built in. They both function the same when the subscription is active, and it would be silly to have different hardware for a software only change. Honestly...
