Update 9/29
Just got back from the dealership, their conclusion is the need for a new Transmission Control Module. Approx 1wk to get the part and make the swap.
They were ready to send me home in it, but best I can tell it’s stuck in 4H(it binds and there’s wheel hop in tight maneuvers), so my...
Earliest my dealer can get me in is Wednesday. Last night on wet slick roads it drove fine after the light had come on. Today on dry roads not so much. The transfer case shows in 2H, the gauge cluster no longer shows the selection. But based on the binding in tight maneuvers and some wheel spin...
Heavy rain here this evening and no issues so far. Waiting for the full replacement top next month.
However the rain and road conditions did lead to a powertrain error that I’ve created a posting for.
I got the below error for the first time tonight. I typically drive in 2H exclusively. I’ve toggled through all the 4wd ans gost
Modes at a standstill, but I’ve only driven long distances in 2H. I’ve briefly engaged 4A in some slippery situations on unmaintained roads.
This evening, leaving...
Risk isn't in the drip, its the water running down the A-pillar through the airbag and associated wiring where there MAY be a risk should the airbag be unable to function as intended
While parked from 9pm 8/21 to 9am 8/22 on a steep incline(front higher than rear in the driveway) a steady rain fell of approx 1.25" accumulation. There were no visible drips or puddling when entering the vehicle. Upon moving the vehicle from the driveway and turning down hill approx 3 ounces...
From a technical/engineering perspective in my industry we need to make sure a $2 bolt is properly spec’d or people are at risk.
I’d like to think Ford can design a top to meet the use scenario they advertise
UPDATE: After sitting through the rain(no wind) of Hurricane Henri in Northern New Jersey……. The passenger side leaked too. While parked on level ground. Not much, but same location as the drivers side. We’ll see how much pours out when I move it tomorrow.
No “rattling” per se. There’s a minor creaking sound that I believe is from the quarter turn locks on the roof panel, the way the lock material and the plate it touches interact. That didn’t start until I had at least 300 miles, Im at 1300 now
Welp……. I guess it was bound to happen, and given the replacement program I guess I’m not too concerned.
A few days after taking delivery I THOUGHT I felt a drip on my left knee driving down the highway, but it was late, dark and not the place to try to figure it out.
Today, hopped in and hit...
I've been waiting for over a week for the FPR CS to figure it out and let me know. Spoke to them multiple times and they were stumped, had to escalate it, then that supervisor had to escalate it(just trying to get the right answer which I do appreciate), this was after referring back to the...
I'm one of the fortunate members who has already take delivery of my 4dr Wildtrak.
Right before the delivery I received the email from Ford with the notes about 200000 reward points(snip below). With the roof announcement the topic has come up again. I ordered and received a MIC top- as the...
same issue for me and also started around 300miles. I did remove the plastic near the tail gate latch. There is a decent size cavity to clear the latch. But no sign of what could be rattling.
and I snapped one of the tabs off the back of the plastic cover. Probably going to make the rattle...
I’m new to the off-road M+S tire scene, I was expecting worse. Can you hear them at 30mph yes. But it’s not overly loud and still easy to talk over and you don’t have to blast the radio. Kids had no problem sleeping through it
