Try resetting the windows. This has been an issue for others. Hit the window down button. Hold down for 5 seconds after it is all the way down then hit the windows up button holding for 5 seconds after all the way up. That should reset. Good luck.

If you don’t have them then the carpet on them is exposed. I think it adds the extra protection as well as completes the look.

I just did a quick check. When I lock from the tailgate itself it locks the entire car. When I unlock from the front door it also unlocks the tailgate. So it looks like it is all or nothing.
