I just installed the Mabett pods with 6.75KS Kickers in my 4 door hardtop, with the front panels swapped out for a Sunrider . I’m telling you that because the hardest part of the upgrade was trying to deal with the attachment screws with the top on. OMG! I then wrestled with trying to mount the...
I assume the swap was an easy Out and In. Both subs fit the same mounting holes? I keep thinking of the word "muddy" when describing the sound I'm currently getting from the 2 ohm sub. The 4 ohm swap corrected that?
When putting the 6.75 Kickers in the pods, should the Forscan setting be Speaker or Speaker/Tweeter? Does the choice also get affected by whether or not a Sub is there. I'm running the Fusion/Kicker 2+2 sub. I still don't have a handle on the difference between Speaker and Speaker/Tweeter...
So the bass blocker is effectively creating a higher resistance on the 4" kicker, creating a collective reduction of the load on the amp? Until a couple weeks ago, this was a foreign language to me, so I really appreciate your patience and guidance on this stuff.
Also, I'm curious what you're...
A couple questions…
Is there a crossover between the kick panel and dash speakers? If so, is it hardware or dialed into the EQ, which would be eliminated by going to “00” in Forscan. I can’t imagine they would be wired to be receiving the exact same signal. I’m thinking putting bass blockers on...
I wouldn’t even know where to start! What would I need to do, and is it worth it? Is it something you would consider doing? I am going to put kicker 6”75’ in the kick panels eventually.
The 6.75’s are going in on Saturday with Mabett pods. Staying stock on the kick panels for now.

Here's chatGPT's contribution to the discussion...
Generally, amplifiers are designed to operate within a certain range of impedances, which is the measure of electrical resistance in a circuit. When the amplifier is not designed to operate at a specific impedance, it can cause strain on the...
Hmmm...Crutchfield tech support , after looking at the Bronco wiring, gave me this diagram and said the front is wired in series...not parallel. So if the front is wired parallel, if we substitute 4ohm for each of the 4 speakers in the parallel example, we end up at 2 ohm? Otherwise, we're at 16...
I'd like to hear your findings. I've got the 2+2 with the Fusion amp. It delivers a lot of bass. Not crisp, but then again, is a sub ever "crisp? The fusion amp/sub is operating independent of the rest of the system...I believe...but I don't know how the sub harness is wired back to the radio...
Just installed the Sunrider top. Tomorrow, 6" Kickers are replacing the 4" kickers in the pods. I'm officially done "modding" the beast...don't understand why my wife doesn't believe me!
I hadn't read this thread prior to trying to turn off autostop today....it didn't run. I have a MY23, and I never load a saved profile, so that nukes that idea. Thanks for the idea though.
I just took delivery on the Mabetts...

By the way, is it necessary to put some Dynamat in the pods? And if so, what is the effect on the sound?
