Was the screw at an angle? Looks to me like it could have been drilled straight out from the inside, instead of following the angle of the hole.
I've done many a flat repairs in my time working at DTC when I was going through college. Don't recall making a mistake like this, but could see how...
I had the same thoughts on the clamps. Had to use them as I was headed to the trail the next day though. I am actually worried about the sharp edge of the outer clamp wearing a hole in the side of the boot over time. What type of clamp did you end up going with?
For the 4wd fault? Tire size was updated before my previous off road trip, so I doubt it has anything to do with the error on this trip.
Problem is that neither issue is going to be replicated/confirmed by the dealer and the only proof I have is an alert in my ford app for the 4wd fault and...
Took the bronco out to uwharrie national forest today. Haven't been there in 10+ years. Man it was good to get back out there!
Bronco handled everything very well, though the engine did stall out when going up some ledges, which was concerning given that I have an automatic transmission. Hope...
Since my kids are on spring break, I'm taking the day off and taking the boys down to Uwharrie tomorrow, 4/4. If anyone is interested, feel free to join up! I'll be out there with my buddy in his non-rubicon jeep on 35s.
It's been about 12 years since I have been out there, so I'll be...
Installed Icon tie rods and the broncbuster bushing today. Alignment in the morning.
Icons were simple to install, though I wish they provided better clamps for the boot.
Followed instructions for the Broncbuster bushing, but when breaking the black plastic piece to remove it, I nicked the...
What relocation bracket did you go with?
I was going to go with Rock Jock's, but Eibach told me the compressed length of the rear coilovers was shorter than what Rock Jock listed as the minimum required compressed length.
No worries... And yeah, my thought is to loosen the nut and if necessary, hammer the cover out of the way when the time comes.
Of course knowing me I'll probably end up doing all 4 at once and just drop the tank.
Did you not have this cover over the head of the bolt?
The way it sandwiches the tab on the bolt head, I don't think I can get it clear of the frame mount to cut the head off. I also don't think I can get to the screws holding the cover on.
This is exactly why I am planning to go with Rock Jock control arms.
This is what I was hoping to hear! I figured with the uppers being further inboard, there is more leverage on them when flexing to get more articulation out of the stock uppers than what you get out of the stock lowers.
Did...
What's the general concensus on replacing the rear links/control arms? Do you need to replace both lowers and uppers to free up travel or do the lower do the trick?
My plan is to at least get lower rear control arms and a track bar to open up some flex on the rear. Trying to figure out if I...
For the Eibach 2.0s and 0 offset wheels, you are probably good on the front crash bar mount. I imagine you'd be more likely to rub the backside of the front wheel well.
I am running the same coilovers with 37" Yokohama Geolandar MT G003s on stock wheels with 0.75" wheel spacers (comes out to be...
