It's not really a pain, just time consuming. Take them off, put in bag, then do it all again to put it back up. Easy to do, just not an almost instant process like this would be. If it is the same material type as the top it might be a little quieter too.
Ford co designed those powertrains though, AMC just bought GM and Ford etc parts and threw them in their vehicles. Collaboration vs just flat out purchasing someone else's product.
I have used them and the onboard storage. It is nice when you don't want to go home to take them off, or take them with you to put them on later when the weather is going to change.
This system would all the convenience I love about my soft top without switching to it. I was been eyeing this for a while too and reached out last year sometime on an ETA to market.
I am saying that the construction on the color top is the same as the MIC that everyone hates with the half ass filled epoxy/cardboard blend. The black top is constructed like a jeep top., which is a lot more solid.
