  1. Complete Stereo Overhaul (Upgrade From Base Stereo)!

I put sound deadening behind the kick speakers, under the dash speakers and in the pods of the rear speakers. I also put sound deadening under the entire rear storage area where the sub is for no other reason than it is best practice. I honestly don't think it made any difference but with the...
  2. Audio Upgrade Help

I hear you and yes, there are a million ways you can go. They system I described is good quality, the sound is well balanced, clear and crisp - even at higher volumes- and the bass is present but not overwhelming. I also suggest you use high quality wiring from KnuKonceptz or similar company.
  3. Audio Upgrade Help

My final build includes an Audio Control LC 1300 amp, kicker KS speakers in dash and kick panel, 12" Kicker Comp Rt downfire loaded enclosure, SSV 6.5" pods and 6.5" Kicker CS speakers in the rear. It works perfect. Probably $2k all in. For $2-3K more you can use Focal speakers and separate the...
  4. Has anyone fit 6 3/4" speakers in their kick panel?

I used Kicker KS all around and they fit fine. If you get them from Crutchfield they will provide all of the correct adapters. FYI, the KS sound a lot better than the CS.
  5. 6 1/2" rear speaker advice

I wonder if it was simply the high quality speakers that resolved the sound issues and if that will be the same using other 6.5" in the rear. I will have to play with it.
  6. 6 1/2" rear speaker advice

Excellent, thanks. I plan on prepping the pod the same way.
  7. 6 1/2" rear speaker advice

I just bought the SSV 6.5" speaker enclosures for the rear and plan on using Kicker CS speakers (it's what I have laying around) there. I have an Audio Control amp putting out 100watts per channel so plenty of power. The question is this... anyone who has done this... do you find your are now...
  8. Complete Stereo Overhaul (Upgrade From Base Stereo)!

I noticed the speaker Grill on my driver side kick panel keeps coming off. Anyone else have the same issue?
  9. Question about rear speakers

Need your help. I have everything installed seemingly correctly and I feel the stereo does not play loud. Seems I have to turn it past 20 to get any real volume out of it. (Not blow your ears out volume, just loud enough to hear it well with the windows down. Any advice on what the issue might...
  10. Complete Stereo Overhaul (Upgrade From Base Stereo)!

Very clever sub box. $7k is rich. I spent $2k and am pretty happy. Audio Control LC 5 1300 with kicker ks speakers all around and the kicker 12" downfire Comp RT. Not as loud as I would have expected but very clear sound at higher volume.
  11. Complete Stereo Install - Amp, DSP, Speakers and Sub. Lots of Pictures.

I think there are several reasons. 1. too small, 2. if that is where the cone goes, your speaker is facing up and is exposed to whatever is in the cargo area, 3. would probably vibrate like crazy and though you can deaden it, I think it will be hard, 4. There is very little storage that is out...
  12. Complete Stereo Install - Amp, DSP, Speakers and Sub. Lots of Pictures.

Thanks. I agree and so far that has been the best way for me to get full sound out of the system. I just notice that if I fade to the rear I lose bass but I can't see why I would do that. Now I am trying to set the the gains and bass roll off controls.
  13. Complete Stereo Install - Amp, DSP, Speakers and Sub. Lots of Pictures.

Big question for you. I have a very similar setup but used the LC model amp, not the D model you have. I could not get the sub to work since it pulls from channels 3 and 4. Instead I had to set up the amp using only channels 1 & 2 as input sources. Did you have any issues or trouble shoot...
  14. Sound deadening advice

Thanks! I didn't see it on their site before. I am still interested in how people sound deaden the car from the vibration of the speakers.
  15. Sound deadening advice

Doesn't look like they make one for the Ford Bronco yet.
  16. Sound deadening advice

I have tried to do my homework but still want to hear what this group has done. I started to sound deaden the Bronco. Not so much to cut out road noise since it seems most noise is through the roof - but to reduce vibration from the speakers. I fully covered the back cargo floor and doubled up...
  17. Wow, I should have waited

agreed. there SHOULD be a discount for that ugly black mark
