  1. Need advice: Bilstein 5100 vs. 6112 (or mixed setup)

Running 5100s with 1.5 and 1.7" lift for 3++ years, very good, inexpensive and holding up to mixed use. installation isn't too bad, mark and drop lower control arm, compressing the spring can be frightening. If/when I replace I'll probably go Ford Performance which I understand is a Bilstein...
  2. The best trim for a new buyer

My BB build with locker and auto, was 37.5K in '21, a BD was 42 and a Badlands was 47, so getting that last bit of goodie cost too much at the time
  3. The best trim for a new buyer

BD over BB was always 4K, you get skids, rails , decent tires, locker and lower gears.
  4. The best trim for a new buyer

IDK, rock rails are heavy.?..steel bumpers?, my plastics weighed about 10 lbs each...
  5. The best trim for a new buyer

Agreed except skids, piece of mind so you dont have to "avoid roads", weight for engine and tc is probably 25 lbs, maybe a bit more for fuel tank if r door that doesn't already have one. That factory weight limit never made sense to me
  6. Lower ball joint nuts missing or fell off??

When I see posts of parts exiting the convo I usually assume improper aftermarket work, you may be the only one big enough to admit it. On my 5100 install I didn't tighten the top three coil over nuts on the left front. Racket on the way to the Mexican restaurant informed me, luckily I wasn't...
  7. The best trim for a new buyer

If you want a 4 door get a Black Diamond, it has a few goodies everyone should have: locker, decent tires and skid plates, If you want a 2 door get a Base and DIY (no factory locker though). If you want either and $$ isn't critical get a non Sasquatch Badlands, it's got it all.
  8. Any way to have parking brake come on with power off?

No, please. It's on my 23 Explorer and I can live with it, but not on my off road vehicle please.
  9. What Maintenance Do You Actually Do on Your Bronco?

I'm the son of an old school mechanic and do everything needed except recalls and warranty, but not too much to my vehicles. Relatives have bought several of my used vehicles, figuring I took good care of them, maybe so but, they never saw WHERE I took them!!
  10. What's the best purchase you've made for your Bronco under $200?

My Pelican V700. $160 or so but free with Cabelas Points. Holds tools, hitch, camp chairs ,jumper box, tire chains and more. Just 2" higher than folded seats and fits perfectly seats up or down. I'm considering the @BA OffRoad Trail Deck when they come out with the two door version...
  11. Ford Ranchero EV Pickup – News & Info

All true. As far as my transverse drivetrain Explorer, it drove well enough day to day, just never 'felt' right. Most annoying was driver position, (very inboard) and not responding the way I was used too (your comments). My grandkids get along great with the platform, in fact one is driving...
  12. Recommended heavy duty rear bumper

Rough Country Tubular for the win! Folks tend to bash RC but I've had this bumper for two years and couldn't be happier, design, construction and finish are super! Als0, there is a matching Black Horse or Barricade Brand for the front. You can have both for the cost of one of many other brands.
  13. 35 x 11.5 - 17 on 55mm Offset Wheels

My thoughts on gearing: If you have a non Sas BD you have a 4:46 locker in the rear, going to 4.89 would gain about 10%, so when running at what would now be 2000 rpm you'd be turning 2200 rpm, not worth the $$ to me. Just get a M210 in 4:46 from Ford Performance or a Badlands takeoff and save...
  14. 2027 Bronco Filson: Specs, Price, Features, Everything You Need to Know

This photo shows a full array of HERO switches, including sway-bar disco. I don't see it mentioned in equipment, do we suppose it has it?
  15. Recall 26S32: 2021-2022 Model Year Broncos MIC Hard Top Roof Panel Delamination [May 15, 2026]

Got my letter today!!! Looks like I'm getting my painted mod (Wimbeldon White or Carbonized Gray please) with a gunners hatch too!!! JK. Right now I'll just be happy with a fuel pump, thank you for your attention to this matter
  16. Limit Top Gear - Progressive Range Selection - Does it work for you?

I use Sport Mode as a defacto Tow Mode, it's close
  17. Clutch Master Cylinder? Exploded

I'm sure they'd try to avoid it, but I would call it drivetrain since it's not a normal wear part like a clutch disk. I'd be worth a call to the dealer And if you have roadside assistance on your insurance (just a few bucks a year) they should cover a tow to point of repair.
  18. BWW #63: 2027 Ford Bronco Filson Edition

About twice the price of mine back in '21. If I had twice the income and twice the ostentatiousness and wanted twice the doors I might get one, looks good.
  19. Grittiness when shifting gears Automatic OB 2025

IDK the answer to your question, but I'll add on my own related question. Does the Bronco have direct mechanical shift or shift by wire? I see a cable to the shift lever on the transmission, but when using M mode I can hear what sounds like an electric motor operating.
  20. Why phone mounts

I know almost nothing of tech, but almost bought a phone mount because the Android Auto version of OnX was pretty poor. It seems much better lately, I think it's updated. I bounce between Google and OnX, sometimes in limited coverage Google is better.
