I'm no expert but from what I've read on here, but I would try to address whatever issue you have with the battery first. Sounds like having a good battery in the Broncos very important and it could be the root cause for some of this

One thing I forgot to check is which parts are aluminum vs steel. I thought it was all aluminum until a couple days ago where I realized the listing also mentions carbon steel, but it might just be limited to the screws they use. Maybe @Carsx can do a quick check using a magnet

No it was nothing bad, just a few minor dings and nicks on the steps where some bare metal was exposed. They were barely noticeable, but because I was one of the first to try them and wasn't sure how good the powder coating was, I didn't want to risk the powder coating coming off too quickly...

Yeah they have a lining on both the bracket and steps, and they're each held on by 2 bolts per bracket so it shouldn't be too difficult to regularly remove/install them
