Thanks! Please post some pictures if you can. Would love to see the door open with the bikes swung out.
I thought long and hard about the options for weeks. I did consider the Kuat as well as options that did not allow the tailgate to open at all but cost less than $200.
In the end, I bought...
Like what you got. Looks like a great setup!
It is too much hardware for me. I am looking for an easy on/off piece that I can literally put in the limited space in the back of my Bronco when I am not using it. I just got the 1up boxes (have not opened it yet). BOTH the rack and the add on for...
Thanks! I ordered the 1UP + The Draw-Tite Hitch. Such a perfectly fitting solution! Putting it all together next week. I will let you know how it goes.
Not sure. There is some geometry there where the rack goes UP from where it attaches to the hitch. You can special order the plates reversed to make it go down, but that would impact clearance in the back.
I have ordered the LONG HITCH and will put it in myself. The Local UHAUL installer guy quit.
Got myself a new tool too... a Torque Wrench.
I will let everyone know how it went with the NEW 1up Bike Rack and the new Trek E-Bike.
Great job... and one that I just could not do. Sewing and taking apart vital pieces to the operation of the vehicle and hoping that it all comes together flawlessly. Just can't do it.
$1500 gets you a soft top for the 2-Door: https://www.bestop.com/products/trektop-slantback-soft-top-ford-2021-2022-bronco/ Cool that Broncos are like a Lego set so you can just swap things out.
I will have NO hitch extender. Here is the Hitch (it extends 4 inches under the stape tire and should be long enough to have no hitch extender and fit perfectly)...
HELP!
I just need validation for what I am doing. And let me know if I have any blind spots in my analysis.
I am getting single 1UP hitch rack PLUS an add on bike tray (so I can hold 2 bikes) with a Draw-Tite LONG hitch (installed from UHAUL, it sticks out about 4 inches under the spare tire)...
So... you can pay an extra $1500 and get a soft top if that is what you want. Not a deal breaker at all. Assuming the average cost of a Bronco is $40K, $1500 is just 4% of that.
As a Scorpio, I cannot admit it when I make a wrong decision. You are correct about that.
However, that does not apply here as the 2021 2 door base bronco m/t with steelies is the most OG looking Bronco there is (which is what I wanted) and I love driving it every day. I also like thinking...
To be clear, as a random guy:
1. I do own a base m/t two door and I love it.
2. I am not vegan, but I am trying to eat a lot less meat.
3. I used to be into Crossfit until everything closed down in 2020, now I just walk.
4. I am a Scorpio, so I do need to validate my self worth and ego.
5...
How far are you willing to travel for this transaction? I am SE Michigan. I would have to drive through Toledo and then Fort Wayne to get to you. Just hoping that you go North/East once in a while and have a truck that can swing those by my area or at least somewhat close. :)
I was just about...
