If they ship them they incur a lot more cost and risk because they will then have to ship the tops to dealers and rely on dealers/mechanics to do the glass swap etc.
Risk of shipping damage, mechanic error, etc. is much greater.
As annoying as it is I can understand why they are delaying...
If the 4runner had slightly better power and MPG I'd probably already be in one. It sounds like 23' is the earlies they'll redesign it, and frankly I may trade the Bronco (if I ever get it) in on one depending on where they go on the redesign.
Sorry if you clarified this in another post. The "bad batch" group will not be shipped to dealer/customer until after new tops are produced and installed, is that correct?
I had a similar call after PM'ing ford motor company on here. All they could say was "it shows in production as of 7/23". Then they offered to transfer me to marketing. 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Unless you're towing a lot or lead foot constantly you probably won't notice the loss of HP/Torgue.
You might see a slight drop in MPG but I'd expect it to be 1 mpg or less, if it's more than that it might be worth the extra cost.
Agreed, in my WRX I get maybe on a really good tank 1 mpg better with premium but the lack of knocking is worth the added cost. When I first got the WRX in 2009 the delta between premium and regular was much smaller than now.
With nothing else happening with my build I guess i have to announce that the date at the bottom of my window sticker updated to 8/7/2021 from 7/30/2021 from 7/23/2021.
Oh I did get a mass email 8/4/21 from Granger saying that additional quality checks were being done on the hard top.
The...
Dealer was probably referring to an independent shop.
As a former Ford mechanic, the dealership is always happy for business, the mechanics hate warranty work (most of the time). lol
That's an insane amount of labor for a simple install!
Unless that dealer is the only dealer in your area and thus your only source for warranty work I'd suggest basically interviewing other dealers. A friend who works in performance suggested talking to service advisors and finding ones who...
I have a 4 door 2.7 non-sas arriving someday. If I can get close to this I'll be ecstatic. Similar if not better mpg than my WRX and no need to run premium sign me up!
Now all y'all that have changes on your window sticker have me wondering what's going on with mine. My window sticker hasn't changed at all. Still reads 7/23 on both the top and bottom. 1971 blend number. No other updates on pizza tracker or B6G tracker.
The few times I did new car prep it took less than an hour on average. I think the techs get paid about 1 to 1.5 hrs of time per prep so they like to keep it as quick as possible. Some dealerships have a dedicated team that does car prep, while some have techs do it when they don't have other...
