Theoretically they need my approval to do so as far as I know, not to say that there haven't been some unscrupulous dealers who have done so without customer approval, but if they were going to put in the order, I'm not sure what they'd put it in for if they had never gotten it from the customer.
It's legitimately from Ford...maybe the dealer got tired of waiting for me to convert with them (granted I tried to call and email them multiple times back in March and it was crickets from their end).....
I didn't click it because I was thinking the same thing, but I actually logged in to my ford.com account and sure enough that reservation now says ready convert and has a button to click that wasn't there before.
I've got 2 reservations for Broncos, one with Tom that I put in later (after I that Transfer deadline in March) and one with a local dealer from back in July. I put in the order a while back with Tom, but never converted the first reservation. I just got an email from Ford that said "confirm...
Maybe you ordered from a dealer with like 2 allocations and they already got both of them? It would definitely be nice if your dealer was a bit more transparent about it and just told you what was going on.
I think it's probably still effective to change the order, it's just a matter of what you're changing it to, there's just a lot more to it than meets the eye, there have been some base and BB non-sas trims with soft tops that are really late reservations that are getting scheduled that almost...
Agreed, if you're that particular build, BB, soft top, non-SAS, mid package it seems like you should have been scheduled by now, unless...
a. you're at a dealer that for some reason just has NO allocation or
b. they put it in as priority 99
@Zach@Granger I see in the OP that you mention orders in before 3/19 only, but I could have sworn some of those earlier emails said orders and reservations in before 3/19 (e.g. I wanted a body colored hard top, which at the time I thought was going to be available in 22, so I didn't order).
Does balance out just mean that all orders for 21's need to be in by 9/30?
I'd honestly be surprised if they opened ordering for 22 before all of the 21's have been scheduled (at this rate let's assume about a month and a half before the end of 21 builds), otherwise they're going to wreak havoc...
They're going to go up....probably significantly based on all of the supply constraints in today's world. My wild guess would be that they won't go up by less than $600 or so and that's on the base, probably more on the higher trims.
