True. I turned the rear lockers on before starting up the Pomeroy Lake trail. Knew what to expect. Didn't have on when starting up Tincup Pass trail. Didn't think necessary. Surprised that I spun in some loose sand around some basketball sized rocks. Turned on and went on my way.
I bent the passenger side rear lower shock mount inside tab. Used a 2-foot-long crescent wrench to straighten. Now have the FP rear lower shock mount skid plates.
Only 13,134 on the odometer. Reservation placed on July 26, 2020. Took delivery on July 26, 2022. Three times to Colorado for trail rock crawling plus a long road trip through Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado. It is my retirement vehicle, so I put miles on it sparingly here at home.
Yeah, hard to tell on that rear diff/axle skid plate. It goes bracket to bracket. And their rear shock skid plate also covers the rear trailing arm bracket too.
Installed at the same time I had front diff, rear diff and TC fluids replaced. These FP shock mount skid plates are re-branded JKS Mfg. skid plates. JKS had 2 different versions based on which shock was installed. These FP skid plates work with all factory shocks.
At 6'1", I worry about the same. Don't want to just slide out. What I do is to put my left hand on the door sill to brace myself and take pressure off the seat bolster until I get my left boot on the ground to support myself.
There are many guys that bypassed the "vent to oil pan" and used either UPR or Mishimoto catch cans instead with good results. Caught significant residues. The FP AOS system I believe guys have had mixed results. Personally, I have the FP system and have caught vapor residues. I feel my choice...
2 sides to the system. In a post, in a thread somewhere, is an illustration showing that Ford has a separator on the side of the block that vents back into the oil pan. The FP Air/Oil Separator is on the other side of the system. From the valve cover back to the airflow pre-turbo.
