I agree, but this is close to what I think Ford should have done, so I ordered them. I also think they give the appearance of more wheel opening without lifting. Hopefully they don't look like shit in person.

There was a bit of re-learning on getting in and out. I could see pants getting dirty if you slide past them getting out. I just step on them, grab the wheel and git down in like I'm getting into a car.
These should easily protect you from door dings and shopping carts.
I got my sliders Thursday. Took a half hour or so to install by myself. No testing yet other than standing on them. They are well made and look good. The finish might be a little too black for the shades of gray that Ford used to build the Bronco. Anyway here are some pics.
