Way back when the constraints conversation first began, it was common knowledge that if you wanted a Bronco, you ordered a stock 4-door Big Bend with nothing fancy added. My guess is that dealers ordered a lot of these (via friends, family, and salespeople putting in orders) with the idea of...
I believe it. The same thing happened to me at an off-road event here in Colorado Springs. I was going up a very steep incline (2-door OBX w/2.7) and the engine stalled near the top. It was the weirdest thing and it took a few moments for my brain to register what had happened. I rolled...
Yeah, nice how they buried that little tidbit among all the other "FAQs."
Like I noted in another thread, I think this was Ford's response to all the recent bad press. They had to say something but they didn't want to say what we wanted to hear so they said a bunch of other stuff instead.
They...
If you click through to the FAQs, there's a lot more information on the website. Not the information I wanted, but still...there's much more than what's in the email.
What I get out of this is that dealerships that have more allocations than reservations won't be able to fulfill those allocations by continuing to place orders past March 7th. That's a good thing for anyone with a reservation who's still waiting on a build date.
That was hilarious. Kudos to the wife, dogs, and especially the kids for being such good sports. You look like a family that knows how to have a good time.
Another point that people seem to forget is that we were pressed to make a dealership decision by a certain date. Initially, Ford said we could switch dealers just once and it had to be done by October 2020. So of course we were aggressively calling dealers and trying to find one that would put...
Are you on Ford's payroll? You sure do like defending them no matter how much they lie and how low they go, while using language (poachers?) that villifies honest dealerships.
You can post on this thread 100 times, but nobody's buying your narrative. Maybe you could apply for a job in their...
This isn't greed; it's competition. It's capitalism.
Do you make all of your purchases locally?
No FedEx, UPS, or Amazon packages on your doorstep?
Can you imagine if you had to purchase all your groceries from one grocer, all your electronics from one electronics store? What do you think...
Ridiculous, but not surprising. Ford sends out emails to thousands, many of whom express interest out of curiosity more than anything else, then they award random people from within that group tickets to purchase without any further inquiry? Are you kidding me? What did they think was going to...
Seriously? It's not as if Ford weren't complicit in the debacle.
They facilitated it with their online Build & Price site, where your Bronco RESERVATION is attached to a dealership.
They facilitated it with the WBDO (web-base dealer ordering system), where your Bronco ORDER is attached to a...
This is where I'm at too. I may wait for my Bronco, but I'll never buy another Ford. They basically used the online ordering system to hype the Bronco, then they created a system where dealerships could sell them to the highest bidder.
They're probably feeling pretty clever, and it's a shame...
I'm glad the story is FINALLY getting some media coverage. Thanks to @DaveH, @OmahaKevin, and others for getting their attention on Twitter, and to @Zach@Granger for doing that interview.
Yes, Farley is either tone deaf or stupid.
If they ever do a remake of Liar, Liar, Levine deserves a...
He updated his original post so you only have to read that one. In fact, you only have to read the first paragraph.
This quick turn-about makes me wonder if someone at Ford actually gives a shit and is paying attention to this forum. That would be quite the shocker, but in a good way for a change.
