  1. Went car shopping

Kicked some tires yesterday to waste some time. Not interested in replacing the Bronco, but wife’s car is getting up there in mileage (MB GLS). Nothing wrong with it, just curious what the market looked like today. Two conclusions…. First: I’d be really pissed if I had to buy a new car these...
  2. Ford Patents for ultra-surveillance/data collection in vehicles

Yup! Back in the 2000's when AOL.com and Worldcom ruled, they laid fiber optic data cable everywhere out here. That became the backbone. Then, the data center folks put some people on the county zoning and planing boards, and all of the sudden things were approved left and right. New water pump...
  3. Ford Patents for ultra-surveillance/data collection in vehicles

One last one - for you Google Earth people. You want to see what I'm talking about? Type in this address into Google Earth and take a street tour. This is just one of about 50 in my area that has popped up over the last 7 years or so. 21955 Loudoun County Parkway, Ashburn, VA
  4. Ford Patents for ultra-surveillance/data collection in vehicles

I agree 100%, but the corporation aspect is even worse, as it's not subjected to the same scrutiny oversight as the government entities. It's a key reason why there are so many 3rd party "contractors". It's not the agency of data management creating and managing the cloud services for the CIA...
  5. Ford Patents for ultra-surveillance/data collection in vehicles

I live in the data center capital of the world. They are literally destroying this county, and are now spreading out across the country. I've also financed a couple over the last few years and have written white papers on them. These facilities are as large as automotive manufacturing plants...
  6. $8/mo for connected Nav is too much.

This is my first car with CarPlay (that is easy to use and worth it). Here in Virginia where radar detectors are illegal, WAZE is a must-have item. Not that I'm speeding around like a teenager, but it's nice to know when I'm approaching a cop car. In my area, it's about 90% accurate for the...
  7. Car wash etiquette please

This. This is what makes this forum so damn good!
  8. Rattle sound on startup

Could be the direct injectors warming up. On my cars, they're famous for being noisy like that. I presume on a cold start, they're the primary source of fuel to the cylinder until it warms up a bit and idles down, then over to the port injectors? I'm not really sure how the dual system works...
  9. Hardtop vs. Soft Top — What are you running this summer? ā˜€ļøšŸœļø

Same. Dual top, and when the weather turns nice, it's 100% ST with the rear windows removed every chance I can get! I'm of the age where I need to turn down the stereo to see better, so I really don't care about hearing music (I don't even have it turned on most of the time anymore in general)...
  10. 2025 Pricing Opinion - Potenial Owner

All-in meaning taxes tag title doc fee and so on? Truly all-in? If you’re ok with that number, which is Kind’ve hard to say if ok or not due to what your sales taxes are, then I’d push for a little more ancillary items. Tell them you’re fine with it, if they throw in the 10 year 100k extended...
  11. Found my long lost Father

He’s not your father, until Maury Povich says he’s your father. šŸ˜†
  12. What are people actually paying for their Bronco right now?

Ordered mine 12/24/23, paid full MSRP. With tax came out to around $62.5. Then another $3,500(ish) on aftermarket for tires, lights, knobs, flaps, etc to make a house a home. So, roughly $66k for mine. Ordered every option possible minus Sas. Second most expensive car I’ve ever purchased (and my...
  13. Are you a top tier gasoline user?

I use Costco 99% of the time, which is Top Tier, and 87 octane (2.7). However, as long as it doesn’t have friggin water in it, I really don’t care too much. There is some irony about this Bronco that makes you wonder if FIAT was involved in its design elements. Says it can forge 30 inches of...
  14. We love Broncos but… what’s the most annoying “small issue” with your Bronco?

Two things. One - that little annoying piece along the guide rail of the rear window for the soft top when you’re taking off / putting on the windows. Lining it up to feed smoothly into the main rail holder is annoying! Second - I wish the front seats could slide back about another inch or...
  15. New Top-Level Bronco Model Trim w/ New Grille & Wheels Spotted

At this point, I'm pretty sure they're just buying crap off of Amazon like the rest of us and calling it a new model for another $5k...... Bring back the "roast" interior and build off of it with wood accents in the cabin. Then, I'll believe a move up-market from Kroger to Wegmans.
  16. Bronco Hybrid Confirmed! by Ford CEO Jim Farley (4/2/26)

Not to be a smart ass, but if you can't drive a V6 in muddy water without killing the alternator, I'm not sure I'd want to subject a "hybrid" to the Bronco life....
  17. Cargo tub liner

I like your style!!! Good looking garage you've got there! I'm basically sponsored by IAG at this point, not sure who's made more money off of me on this car - Ford or IAG. I did buy the rear struts from them, but I never installed them. I didn't like the idea of not being able to guide the...
  18. Cargo tub liner

I've not, but my windows are out currently. I'll be putting them in tomorrow for the work week ahead and at highway speeds. I'll listen for any.
  19. Cargo tub liner

Here is what they look like on the inside. I like the added protection from the st frame rail potentially rubbing on the paint. It also makes that seal along the bottom of the st rail even tighter. I don’t have any paint damage from the top against the paint after two years, but still like...
  20. Cargo tub liner

PS: if you're interested in it and don't want to take off the top, you'll need a 10mm ratchet wrench to slide under to get the bolts off, and then reinstall. Makes it easy, and you just have to remove the mounting bolts to the soft top on the inside and mess with lifting it up a little, not a...
