I wouldn't be that cynical. Ford is a business. They exist to make a profit for their owners (Ie shareholders) and they have a right to protect their self-interest like any company should. Don't like it? Go to Chevy or Volvo or start your own car company. I'm sure you'll find much of the same...

Since I posted that post I learned/realized that parts like the grille can be easily replaced for not too much money. Painted door handles, fenders and roof are an entirely different problem.
