Work with the gain adjustments on the 200.4. I put the fader completely to the channel Iām adjusting. Did the fronts and backs independently, looking for the best sounding setting. Then I centered the fader, and in my case, backed the front off a bit to get my personal preference on the front...
What size sub bigger than 6.75 fits in the subwoofer space without modification in the Badlands stock sub enclosure? Now that I have the 6.75 pods, I feel like I could get a better quality low end sound with a bigger sub, but it has to work with the fusion amp.
Unscrew cargo floor- 5 minutes
Pull out the rear and middle cargo floor trim- 3 minutes
Pull up the door sill trims- 5 minutes
Pull out the rear quarter panel - 10 minutes
Unscrew and take out dummy amp and sub- 5 minutes
Screw in and reattach wire harnesses to the sub and the amp- 10 minutes...
I just orderd 6.75" Polk Audios to swap out the 6.75" KS Kickers, and 4" Polk Audio for the front dash. Crutchfield rep, after hearing my sound narrative as the Kickers being too bright, but also a bit muddy in the mids, went to the Pols with the explanation being that Polk is known for a softer...
Got it. Do me a favor and give me the pleasure of having the opportunity to say "I told you so"... š Only kidding. I hope it gives you what you want, but my experience says you're going down the same track I did. I expected a lot more improvement from the 4" Kickers, but it wasn't the case.
Not spending your money for you, but I would go the extra mile on the pods and put in Mabett enclosures with 6.75" speakers. I put in the 4" kickers in the pods, and it was dramatically inferior to the result from the 6.75's. The inherent limitations of a 4" speaker to carry a full frequency...
Not quite true. Installing the amp under the steering wheel requires pulling the HVAC panel. That one is harder than any of the other stuff. The panel pulling for the sub is very easyā¦not hard to get to or stubborn panels.Theyāre all an easy pop off. Follow @1Five1 Garage video on stripping out...
I did the swap to the 4ohm sub yesterday. Itās actually pretty easy and well worth it. Crutchfield is spectacular about the return policy. They are taking back the 2ohm sub and the 4ā kickers I had put in the pods. Yes, its a rabbit hole. The issue is the number of variables creating dozens of...
You are gonna get so hosed. This is a process. Do a tweak, live with it, do anotherā¦.wash, rinse, repeat.
Weāre doing stuff on this forum that is pushing the envelope of cost-quality. Iāve spent $900 in equipmentā¦and my time. My local reputable shop quoted between $3-$500 just for dropping in...

Iām posting this to give anyone going down the āpursuit of great sound rabbit holeā a leg up in avoiding some of the most common challenges.

Why rear pods to speaker and not speaker/tweeter if theyāre 6.75ās?
Yes...my rule...never buy into now...buy into what you know you're going to want...because we always get what we want...Mick Jagger is wrong.
What Forscan lines did you hit with what settings? B&O or base system? Sub or not? Iād love to get the details.
The only lines Iāve touched are 727-01-01 and 727-01-02. Are there others?
