The first byte that was A is your expect DSP messages (B&O amp volume repsonses), 2 is off, A is on. You can go back to your original coding and just change the A to a 2.

This is pretty outrageous from the dealer... The factory amplifiers have built in over current/short circuit protection. You shouldnt be able to kill it even if you tried. I would say faulty amp. Our amps use similar chips to the factory except more expensive. You can short speaker wires...
