Well, frankly when the roof is off it’s the first thing You see. Having the roof off is going to be most of the time I drive it. This is a small issue but someone should have caught it before paint. There is no excuse for shit like this. If this was under the hood or a body panel I could care...
Took off the drivers side top on my 2dr and was greeted with this. Glaringly obvious and a testament to the QC process. Not a big thing but bothersome for sure.
They are about 3” High useable. I could have squeezed a little bit (1/2”) more if I was really trying. They are each about 17 1/2 x 17 1/2. I wanted to make the overall height so that the platform sits dead flat.
dealer tracker showed that it stopped in Chicago for 2 days. I got the number and checked and the car was unloaded and empty. Showed at the dealer 2 days later.
I made a first try at my filler panel. Drawers are next but the idea is to have a flat area when the seats are back. Put the seats down, flip the platform forward and viola…nice flat carpeted space.
My manbase arrived. Threw some 265/75-16s on for now just to get the stock tires off. Going for 35x10.50-17s in a few months when I can round up wheels.
With regards to the basemanSquatch you also get the upgraded transfer case over a nonsquatch So there may be additional costs. I may just try to order one through my dealer and drive my incoming Manbase until then. If I’d had known I would be stuck on dirt mountain for 3 months, I’d have 99d my...
Ahhh, snow tires….So you can stop and turn corners without going into the wiggle weeds. Real snow tires (hakkepellittas, blizzaks, etc.) are an incredible upgrade. Once you drive on them in winter, you’ll never want to go back. Northern MN boy here and I won’t go without. 3 peak/all seasons just...
I think it could be attributed to total height. Most new vehicles are designed to fit under a standard 7’ garage door and most doors hang lower than that when open. Add the 4” rack to a Sasquatch and see if that fits. They may need to make a low profile rack for the Sasquatch fitment.
I have a plan in mind. Drawers, platform, made out of Baltic birch plywood. I dabble in cabinet work and design stuff in real life. If I could only have it here to work on…..it was supposed to be a SEMA build and Ford f#c%ed that up.
I’m going to fab a similar platform up if my Dirt Mountain escapee ever gets here. Not to be “that guy” but why not just screw and glue the 2x4s from the top if they will be carpeted over? Pocket screws not really necessary in this situation and not everyone has the cool little jig lying about.
