Not back on the road yet, unfortunately. Still waiting on the passenger curtain airbags and a couple small parts.
I was confused by the same thing with the GoRhino brackets. The 2 door kits ship with the 4 door bracket set, but only use two brackets per side (leaving two brackets unused). I...
Body shop has been pleased with the number of parts they’ve been able to get already. Just waiting on 2-3 parts from what I understand, including the passenger side curtain airbag (currently backordered with no ETA). So, I’m cautiously optimistic that I’ll be back on the road before warm spring...
just got a call from my dealer, who submitted a misbuild claim for this issue last month. Apparently Ford is now saying that this wasn’t a misbuild, rather the window stickers, B&P, etc for MY2023 were incorrect. As a result, this is now being handled by the “Customer Resolution Center.” Dealer...
Saying that 👆 on this thread while complaining about your cold-wittle-feetsy-wheetsies on the floor vent HVAC thread, huh? Seems like there’s some irony in there somewhere if you squint your eyes just a little...

Why do so many here get so nervous about the distinction between the Sport and the 6G…?
OP was so aggressive and grumpy and then…just like that…a quick “I was wrong” with no apology for being unnecessarily irate. 🙄
It gets a little…err…toxic on here sometimes, doesn’t it?
EDIT: Completely misread this thread before posting that 👆 @TrailDust
Really appreciate the kind words and support. After a few days of calls to body shops, insurance agents, etc., I’m feeling better about this situation. Of course, the wait will be long for some parts, but at the end of it all we’ll end up with this great truck to drive, and the story of how it...
Right there with you, brother. From my morning commute today. My airbags deployed, but no fluids leaking.
If anybody wants to chime in with their totaled/fixable thoughts, I’m all ears. More details here...
This happened on my morning commute. First and most importantly, nobody was hurt.
I had the right-of-way, a Ford Focus pulled out in front of me to cross the intersection (she was forthright that she couldn’t see me because she hadn’t scraped the frost off her windows) as I entered the...
Right. I’m not concerned about having standard 4x4. It gets a little dicier when thinking about sending my wife out on icy/bad roads. Trying to get non-enthusiasts to appreciate when to use 4x4 vs when to use RWD (to avoid drivetrain binding) can be tricky. She’d much rather get in a car and not...
Mileage - I’m getting about 18.5 MPG in a mix of city/hwy that is more heavily city streets. Aired down to 32 PSI, so that probably negatively impacts gas mileage.
On-road - it seems pretty civilized. The tires are new, so I’m sure they’ll eventually get a little noisier. At highway/freeway...
Thanks! Your carbonized gray base with 265/75r16 was where I started this journey!
Trying to post photos/updates on my build here, if you want more content…

285s are definitely the more popular choice around here for the base steelies. But I’d suggest you consider 255/85r16. They’re within spec for the width of the steelies, and they look more classic/timeless IMO. Plus, they’re a tiny bit taller (actually 33”) than the 285s.
Misbuild claim pending for plastic front skid installed instead of the steel skid that comes with the HD modular bumper.
Also, had new tires installed day of pick up. Dealer scratched through the paint on every fricken’ wheel (a death sentence for steelies in the snowy/salty Great Lakes). It’s...
RB20 slim lines installed a couple days ago. Look good, feel solid. The slim lines seem to be nicely proportioned for the non-sas flares/tire poke on my base. There is enough room for me to put my foot on an angle stepping in. If you have large feet, or are not steady on them, I’d suggest...
