the cartridge is a lot more of a mess than the spin on, the spin on is simple, self contained, spin the old one off, a little oil on the gasket, add some oil to the filter and spin it on and done. How do you wipe out the cap with the spike thing sticking out of the middle of it, unless you are...
I am in the middle of my first oil change (first time I have bought a new Ford and the first oil change wasn't included, but oh well) and have a few observations where if anyone else has done this already knows what happens. First thing is the drain plug.....that thing is AWESOME!!!!, the rate...
How many send their oil out for testing to see how long you can actually go? On my NA 3.5 Explorer (sold to buy the Bronco at 150k) I tested it a few times at 10k and there were still additives left and everything looked good so it could have gone longer. On my F150 3.5TT at 10k the additives...
It wasn't bean counters, there isn't a cost savings in the dipstick from old to new. It was the major reduction in warranty claims because people can't check their fluid and overfill it as easily as they used to be able to, basically forcing a tech or someone with some knowledge to be the one...
The trans doesn't have to be hot but does need to be running when you check the level, if checking cold it should be about 1 mark below where you want it hot. I have done my F150 fluid change a couple times....not a hard job, dump fluid, put new in, can't really mess it up. For all things Ford...
Were you running high IAT or what is driving this change? At what temp is timing getting pulled? Just wondering how close to the edge the stock cooler is running.
I like my dealership, they have changed owners a few times and had some ups and downs but not a big deal, just be willing to walk away and go somewhere else. I say my dealership but this is the first time I have ever bought a 2nd vehicle from one...I am also old school where I will never buy a...
Did you ever find a mudflap that you like? The ones in the picture aren't bad but I am not sure I need them sticking out that far... I tried OEM and cutting like others have done but my cut job did not look good enough for me so I am still on the hunt for a mudflap to try out. Does anyone had...
When I was looking yesterday I was finding the opposite, the only way I could get away from an LT tire was to go 18", the other options were all LT where I was looking, tire rack and discount tire.
I looked and sadly I can't find a decent snow tire that is 32" for a 16 or 17" wheel....so it seems I need to find 18" wheels....which there are a lot out there people just want a bit more for them. thanks for the replys.
nice, thanks for the info...i'll look and see what my options are for winter tires to keep it the same height.....I will also check to make sure they fit over my brakes before I buy and mount tires....I learned that the hard way once...
I always get a 2nd set of rims for my vehicles to run dedicated winter tires. I found a set of steel Ranger rims but they are 16". Will that 16" rim clear the brakes? I have an OB with 18" on it now. thanks
I am about a month or so in and about 3000 miles on my Bronco and I found the first rock chip, right in the middle of the front fender, kind of an odd place for it but it is there. What touch up paint seems to be the best for matching and filling it in? Is it best to get it from the dealer or...
Hi Tim,
If I could get 4 that would be great, get me by until I buy some aftermarket ones. Do you Venmo or something so I can pay for shipping? Thanks
Michael
My dealer put the locks on, wish they hadn't, if anyone has any OEM non-locking lug nuts around let me know, dealer wants more than I am willing to pay for a nut. Thanks
