It looks like the shelf and the brackets can be removed fairly easily from the attachments that go between the tire and the tailgate? Is that true?

That xrack looks pretty good Looking to hold maxtrax and maybe some wood, outdoor tools like axe, shovel etc Im not interested in a strap mounting solution because I think they're just way too easily removed - worried about it being stolen.

Was the rear sound shield worth it as a standalone upgrade? I'd like to try and reduce road noise and am considering doing this before installing a drawer system, but I haven't seen anyone mention that it makes an actual difference
