Just giving Vasher some credit for being able to increase lateral stiffness using the oem frame mounts for the upper links. Getting lateral stiffness (good triangulation) out of two independent upper links has multiple interference issues. I would be curious if the increased lateral stiffness of...
Bummer on not getting parts in time to build for UBB.
Sssoooo if that is only a 6” travel coil over, then the swaybar link looks smallish. 🤣
I can’t wait to see how it all works back there when wheeling.
Different springs can be put on the 5100 bilstein shocks besides OEM. Spring rate is an important parameter but not the only consideration.
The spring needs to fit wrt diameter, so spring ID is important.
The shock should be near mid stroke at ride height, so spring free length is important...
Thanks for engaging in discussions.
The level of effort on this is most definitely appreciated. Detailed scans for geometry definition, 3D solid modeling, rigid body kinematics, stress/displacement analysis. Many, many, serious hours of effort.
Sssooooo many tradeoffs need to be made from...
Ford performance Fox hoss 3 coilovers, wheels of your choice (just not negative offset), and 35s. Greet ride quality and will give the look you are probably after. Comes with rear sway bar also.
A review for any product in the first week is kinda silly. Most manufacturers want you to review as quick as possible, when your exuberance is still high and confirmation bias for the dollars you spent is easy to come by.
Some of the yellow SAS bilsteins have remote reservoirs, but I guess only after 30k miles or so. Even more rapidly I assume in the salt belt.
Seriously though, I have heard good things about the HOSS 3 fox coilovers. I got some cheapish 6100 bils a couple years ago but would have definitely...
The motion ratio has to be crazy non linear throughout wheel travel??? Seems like there would be a really high MR when the axle moves upwards and pushrod is near horizontal. Can’t get my brain around that pushrod angle. Is it still a pushrod when it is perpendicular to vertical wheel travel. My...
Mmmmm… pie be tasty.. Apple, cherry, … RHUBARB… what were we talking about again?? Hmmm.
Oh yeah.. square roots.. can’t say I have ever seen any. Most are round, right??
I do like math though.
Is this for the build with portals on left front and right rear? I can’t keep track. Or just portal delete as they fly off when wheeling?
A new thread is a good idea, it just may not help me much.
Nice rig.
Interesting that you have some squat with the fox oem coilovers. Maybe the front haven’t settled yet? Do you know if they were a 4door or 2door set, maybe 4door with stiffer front springs? Surprising to me that the oem setup would not be tuned for some rake.
It will be difficult...
