Some observations after 6000 miles. Went with a lower pressure when I got them installed to offset the stiffness of being load range E. Was running at 30 PSI and the ride was pretty good but fuel mileage took a hit. Went from 21-22 MPG on the factory grabbers to 16-17 on the mickeys. Ride was...
so no light is better than “improper” light because the book says that’s not what they’re for. Bumper is too high on a bronco for fog lights to be anything other than decorative anyway. I have a dual function, spot and flood, light bar under my winch and flood style ditch lights at the A pillar...
Love my MVG. They do get toasty in the summer and your butt and back will be sweaty after a drive, but they are super comfortable and easy to clean the mud off of when you forget the windows are down……
First time I took my non sas BD out with the local off road recovery group it got lots of side looks and there was whispering and laughing about it. When I managed to pull the completely dead jeep out of the sand (with help from another jeep) then tow it 5 miles down the riverbed solo to get...
For off road or rural roads at night when there is no fog or snow falling. High beams on illuminates down the trail and fog lights throw out a nice puddle of light right in front of the bumper and partially into the ditch.
Thanks to the road department and a local with a dozer the road is finally open and repairs to the power are underway. Had to take a pic of this little drift they cut through to open the road.
I’ve had these down to 10 psi with no issues. Was running at 15 for this trip. I think the “narrow” 35’s fill the wheel well nicely and is a good aggressive look without sacrificing highway ride quality.
Had to keep up the speed to blast through the drifts. I’ve driven that road enough that I know what’s around each of the blind turns otherwise I wouldn’t have had the guts to go even that fast in those conditions.
The main reason I went with the Baja boss AT was the size the offered. Have a non sas black diamond and wanted to go bigger diameter that would fit without rubbing. 255/85R17 is just about the same diameter as the factory Sasquatch tires but narrower. I buy all my tires from discount tire and...
It fits perfectly. Will have to come up with your own plan for trimming the plastic covers around the factory recovery hooks but install was a breeze even by myself.
We managed to make it up there today. The bronco only made it about 50 yards past where the downed tree was before the drifts got way to big for it, ended up riding in the side by side with tracks the rest of the way. About 8” of ice coating everything made for a total mess and will probably be...
Held up fine with no reinforcements. Only one pull was even slightly hard at about a 70° angle from centerline as that was the only tree available to get out of the last drift (picture in original post). Have used it before to pull a full size van out of a sand trap and up a hill with no bending...
“A/T” size 255/85R17 on factory black diamond steelies. Road noise is not that much more than the grabbers that came with it. They do ride a little rougher being load range E but it doesn’t bother me, I didn’t buy it for luxury car ride anyway lol.
Worked great. I did replace the Chineseium hook with an ultra hook from factor 55 though. Only casualty was my winch cover. Was completely encased in ice and I couldn’t get it to stretch to come off so I had to cut it. Will definitely be ordering another one this week week. The NM sun is killer...
The spot I got stuck was so deep I don’t think chains would have helped. The 35” Mikey Baja boss tires do pretty good but when you put enough snow under it that they are hanging in the air pulling is about all that will help lol
Shot the video using the bronco trail app. Unfortunately it seems that the app has been removed from the app stores, not sure if or when it will come back.
Tried to go up to the top of Capilla Peak here in NM today. Storm took out a pole and power lines for our emergency communication tower and the generator didn’t start. Downed tree and no saw with me blocked the road so I tried to use the electric company maintenance path. Got stuck three times...
