After waiting for the parts for over a year I asked for an update from my dealer. The service writer I had been working with is no longer there and it took the new guy a few minutes to find what I was talking about. Was then informed that because the TSB had been updated I would need to leave...
Just had my local off road shop install Eibach pro truck stage 2 coil overs on all 4 corners. Total including parts and alignment was $2,890. Definitely could have done it myself cheaper but I don’t mind paying for the peace of mind of having it done by someone who knows suspension better than I do.
quick release mount from Amazon on my M2M cargo shelf. Discovered the hard way that the roll bar mounts don’t fit on the 2 dr. Used the soft side of some adhesive Velcro to tighten up the connection and stop it from rattling going down the road.
I use the hill decent regularly. Have some really steep mountain roads out here and while I love my manual the 2.3 does not have enough to hold the speed down. Is nice to set it at say 12mph and let the truck apply the brakes and save my leg lol
I think probably the only mod I don’t really use is the dash mount rail. Used it a few times to hold my phone for trail videos but have a dash cam installed now so won’t need it. I use the main display screen for on-x when I’m on the trails. Have used all my recovery gear several times, mostly...
I have not used any of the factory pre run wires so I can’t comment on that but depending on what you are running they would probably be undersized even connected to the aux switch wiring. Like you I think the draw on the aux switch wiring will be minimal considering I’m simply using them to...
I added a rough country relocation bracket and brake light extension to make sure it cleared. Didn’t need the relocation bracket per se but I wanted the spare higher for towing clearance.
Have a 2dr non sas BD with the 2.3 and manual. 4.46 gearing on the BD. It gets up and moves just fine even with the heavy 35” mickeys I put on it. Being at over 6k in elevation here I was worried about it at first but the turbo makes a world of difference. No regrets about the engine at all.
I say go for the manual and the advanced transfer case. The 2.3 is not that much less power than the 2.7 and the crawler gear with the 94:1 gear reduction in 4L is awesome off road.
It weighs about 35 lbs and I’m not sure how I would secure it onboard yet, but for the removal of tires to clean off the mud it was worth every penny lol
Just in case anyone else is curious, you can run one of those Vevor airbag jacks that’s been going viral with an ARB twin. It’s not quite tall enough on its own but is sure way faster than the factory jack.
