Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows of skidplates that would protect the frame support arms, or if that is even a thing. Getting some good dingers on those bad boys.
It is great, somtimes I pine for the comfort of cloth, but I've already gotten into my bronco dirty as heck, and it all washes away with MGV and rubber floor.
I've had them for several months now without issues. I've also been high centered and in narrow channels. The rails do what's advertised and are robust.
Seconded, this sounds like a balancing issue. Thought I power washed enough after wheeling myself, but at 70 mph my rig shook like a leaf. All due to mud inside of the wheels.
Did you do this underbody as well? Just curious as under mine I have a mud fiesta .... while I have scraped & powerwashed under there for about two hours in the past week. Still there is more! I would literally have to strap up the gas tank and remove the skidplates to get the rest off.
Hydrolock is when you get a literal flood of water into the air intake. If it was caused by this you would have to drive like a granny on the road in a rainy day. Keyword here submerged.
I'm just more worried about my filter getting dirty early because I'm not interested in spending on a new...
@Alpha1_Silverback No problem my dude. Also, happy birthday! In your second picture at the pond. You can see the trail wrap around that we got high centered on. Didn't realize at the end of that intersection there is a ledge!
@TeocaliMG That's funny, because the bottom suction came off a couple of times. Putting it into full jousting position! (Would sit forward on the fender flare)
@ the Holly Oaks ORV park on 3/26 with my cousin.
Had a blast. He got thrown into the door a few times, by that darned bucking Bronco 🙃. Got high centered once, and the fellas at the park helped us out. Great community there!
I like the 4 door, because my wife and I like to do night overs in campgrounds. With the 4 door, we sleep inside the bronco with the seats folded down (extra nice with the soft top). That said I think the 2 door looks far better, and the seating is more comfortable (if harder to get into). Also...
Carbon buildup should be much less of an issue on the 6-cylinder (dual injection). I also like that it does not lean into the turbo so much as well.
Enjoy, I have over 8k miles on my 4D 2.7 BL.
I'm still waiting for Harbor Freight to put them on sale. I have the Badland Tow strap, x2 soft shackles. Let us know where you decide to put it on your rig!
They are great for understanding your approach. Also if you are about to lose a wheel over and edge. However the depth perception can be misleading. My wife still spots me in those tough areas, but I love being able to utilize her direction and the cameras. To me Lux is not worth, but the high...
