Ford just went through the exact reservation process with the MachE.
The Reveal and Reservations opening happened November 17th.
Last week of June, 7 months later, orders opened. Ford's customer service reps were equipped to move a reservation PRIOR to Order which is what the MachE FAQ...
I would have that discussion at order time for sure. Even our firm order isn't a legal contract, that comes upon delivery, consideration ($), and acceptance, we should know what the bottom line price is going to be and if Ford plan eligible they'll honor it prior to converting our reservation...
Additionally, those using any plan, A/Z/X/D, if available, know the following:
"The customer must register the vehicle in the US, and retain it in their name for at least 6 months. The vehicle may not be exported out of the US.".
It appears the same process Ford used for MachE. Reservation holders will be contacted to convert to an order. At this point if you want to switch dealers, you tell them and Ford support processes the dealership reassignment.

Agree on the sophomoric nature of the, told you so, comment, but unless he/she is the owner of the dealership, they're probably not posting on their behalf.
