Besides the horrible reliability of the newer model Land Rovers, the highest in the industry mechanic labor rates, I just saw one up close and it looks like crap.
I don't recall what made it seem so low, but next to the BL that was there it looked like a big enough difference where the BL was the minimum height I would want.
My wife will be getting a 4 dr sasquatch OBX. I don't like the painted fender flares and the non-squatch OBX is unacceptable so I'm happy. I saw the non-squatch OBX at the off road show and when I first glanced at it I thought it was a Bronco sport. That's how low to the ground it is.
I’m about the same, maybe trailing off a bit even after seeing it today due to the mixed reports and lack of concrete answers on the 2” lift option and the trim accent colors.
Also, I asked the rep if the sound deadening made a difference and was worth it - he said he felt like it made a difference. I asked about a Ford Performance tune coming at some point, one of the Ford reps asked why would I want that?! Speaking to the Ford driver rep later he went on and on...
Was he the tall guy? Because he told me when I explained the context of the question and how it was passed on the B6G board, he said he recalled the conversation and what was posted was not accurate.
My observations on the two Broncos at the expo - the OBX looked very low; and the height of the Badlands was the lowest I would want. The Sasquatch will be a good height. The quality looked really good, especially compared to the newer jeeps.
I got conflicting info on the 2”
lift option from the Ford race team rep. He said no. And he wasn’t 100% confident about neutral color trim accents. That was a maybe or “nothing confirmed yet”.
I've got two reservations (one for me and one for my wife), so I hope her order will have the painted top available. I'm tempted to hold off until MY22 for mine since I really want the badlands without the orange trim - maybe a plain trim accent color will be available with MY22.
For my badlands, until a Ford spec lift is available and I can safely go with 37's, I will go with a 16" wheel and 255/85/r16 tire (although the available options are very limited).
I'm attending this on Sunday - my questions to get confirmed are will 16" wheels fit and with the update to B&P will there be a trim option to change the accent color to black/charcoal.
Not to completely derail the topic, but has it been confirmed that 16" wheels will fit as I'm determining all tire options? I tried a search and didn't find a definitive answer.
The new defender is a mall cruiser looking piece of crap.
Don’t LR mechanics have the highest labor rate of any brand? I know they used to. You can have it and take that crap off the Bronco forum.
