I got the Backup Camera stays on recall letter. It says the software update number that fixes it. I went to my Bronco screen and checked updates, it says "up to date". But how do you confirm WHAT version you are on? I want to compare that with the recall notice update number.
I just checked back in and thought I'd answer some of the questions. Thanks for the replies.
My sleeping pad is home made from memory foam bought at one of the fabric shops, then cut myself and covered with a Twin mattress cover. The step down is the big problem you have to address with...
I just got back from a 5 day solo overlanding using my home made foam mattress system. It's not ideal, but I've used it on 3-4 camping trips with my wife. After seeing this, I think I'll get at least one for solo.
One question is takedown, how long and how much trouble is it to deflate and...
I've had my Bronco (4dr Big Bend) for a year now, 13,000 miles. I took it on the Alpine Loop in Colorado, and several not quite as hairy SW desert trips. But had not taken an overlanding trip yet, so I did one the week after Christmas, solo. I decided to visit an extremely remote Arizona...
I was mildly interested in why someone would wait 2 years for a Bronco, then walk out. I figured it was the wrong configuration, or had a huge hole in the body, or the dealer tried to add additional markup. But it's none of that, just "I got mad at their trade in offer so left..." What a...
I got my Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires. Like them so far, just a hair louder than stock Duellers on my Bronco 4dr. About 10 lbs heavier...but ANY decent tire was going to be heavier. I'm not sure of the MPG yet, driving home from the dealer they appear to have lost 2.5 MPG. I was hoping...
This happened to me last night, 1 year old Bronco 2.3L. Stiff pedal after the brake warning light. Pressing it again, could feel something give away, and got normal power brake feel again. I took it to the dealer, they had looked up the codes, ordered a vacuum valve part. Coming this week.
I had this problem yesterday on the way HOME from the dealer! I had gone in for tires, got on the highway, and an alarm tone sounded and Service Brake light came on. I pressed the brake pedal and it was very stiff. I turned around and headed back to the dealer. I called on the way. They...
BTW, I called my dealer and explained the problem. When they set up an appointment for next week, I asked if that was to install the new switch or to do an "assessment." They didn't seem to know about this issue (big dealer too). They said "you'll have to leave it with us 48 hours". I...
Glad to hear this is a known issue, my 2021 started having the lights come on this week. Did it about 3 times, in daylight so I didn't notice until we walked back to the parking lot after shopping for an hour....lights on. Will call my dealer.
Will do. I have mostly rocks and gravel roads here (Arizona). Hence the reason to keep the 255 width. I think having more clearance by 1/2" is more important than having a wider, heavier, tire. And I won't get as many rock dings. That's the idea anyway.
I wanted a little "bigger" look too...
After a year on my 4dr Big Bend's stock tires (255/75 R17 Dueler AT) I ordered the new Toyo Open Country R/T TRAIL tires. Size 255/80 R17. They're coming soon to my Ford dealer (using Ford points and the black Friday deal). I'm comfortable with all the aspects of the change, except their E...
Back again to check in. The Ford dealership knows nothing about modular hard tops ever being available. I thought with the 38,000 members here, you have statistically better chances of having someone answer that knows something. But it appears those members have left like me. Leaving the...
The modular painted hard top that many of us ordered for our 2021s is still never mentioned, other than Ford is putting it on the Heritage models. Those of us that downgraded to the soft top have going on 3 years of NO news about buying one to retrofit.
The Root Cause of the whistling noise is the sharp outside mold line. It's like the hole in the mouthpiece of a flute. If you put a piece of painters tape over it for an experiment, it stops. Then you can decide if you want to smear some black RTV or use some black electrical tape over the edge.
I kept getting notices to check my post, so did. I see there was NO answer to my question:
" does anyone KNOW anything about [modular painted hard tops] being made available for retrofit purchase? "
Answers:
" buy a MIC hard top" - I didn't ask about the Molded in Color top. Not relevant...
Sorry, but I just had to quit this forum after I got my Bronco last December...so much guesswork, negativity, and stupid memes being posted - you couldn't find out any actual data unless you spent hours a week here. Which I, for one, am not about to do.
We had a statement in the Navy - RTFQ...
