An Overlanding has amenities that some campgrounds don’t have and nothing is wrong with having those things wherever you decide to stay the night (s). An Overlanding rig is capable of the minimum to the maximum conditions and most would not want to have a camp rig and an overlanding rig.
Sure..what I meant by hangin off is that so many nooks and crannys to get/stay dirty/wet during the winter daily driving months, hence getting a smoother, more clean Bronco Sport for that purpose. This was my only pursuit/question. Nonetheless I appreciate your input.
Many many many Overlanding Broncos, Jeeps, Toyotas, etc are no different than mine, some even more extreme. The GOBI rack is taking all the top weight and I really don’t think it’s over weight overall. All the things I’ve added are fairly light. The HUGE 270 Bush awning is only 75lb. I’m not...
My build is perfect for what I intended it to be and none of your comments have relevance to that. They just waste our time and energy so this is my last attempt to bring you into being a nicer more constructive person. Your choice from this point forward. Good luck
Curious how many chose this path:
1) Built an Overlanding Bronco with all the amenities (RTT, Awning, Gear, Etc etc) and have chosen this would not be a preferred daily driver, constantly getting dirty (mine has so many nooks & crannys)?
2) Bought a second vehicle to be that daily driver in...
Funny story…I’d planned to mount an awning to the driver side and RTT exit on passenger side. Went to Overlanding Expo and bought a Bush awning. Didn’t realize until I was an hour away on the freeway that I’d accidentally chosen the passenger side. I freaked for a moment then rationalized...
GOBI supporting all my gear (RTT, Awning, lights). Looking forward to Mole panels to support other stuff as well. Paul from GOBI was awesome in supporting the development of brackets to support the Bush 270 Max awning. Took some trial and testing bit new brackets work great so far.
I would recommend medium/medium and yes on UCA. You really won’t notice a drive difference in medium vs light IMO but do it once do it right is my motto.
LOOOONG awaited Bush Awning Max 270 XT installation. Went through initial set of GOBI brackets that were no where near strong enough and bent upon installation. GOBI then sent a proper set, similar to what they use on Jeeps for heavy/articulating awnings like this. Lots of micro adjusting but...
I used all spacers in front and NO spacers in rear. With ARB summit front bumper and winch, GOBI rack, Freespirit RTT, fridge and storage in rear, 37 spare and on 37s I sit 40.625” in front and 41.5” in rear. I want to raise the front maybe another .50” and considering a spacer between front...
Decided to order Joolca single shower awning unit and heater. Thought about this a lot, coming up with different ideas but I think this will be the cleanest.
Mounted propane tank today but not sure I like the horizontal look. Might turn 90
Yes…they work perfectly fine as I need a step as well but also wanted the best rock protection. I use them all the time to step on to get access to the top of the bronco, roof rack, tent, etc
No regrets
