Bought some of this on Amazon. Worked like a charm. Far easier than any of the proposed “mods” I’ve seen. My biggest problem Is the rear glass on the hardtop. The rubber seals make all kinds of noise against the tailgate. Silicone spray works but I’m having to constantly reapply.
I wouldn’t sweat it. All of the B&O speakers have paper cones. They may be “treated” with wax or something. You could always get boat speakers but if you’re going to expose the interior to that many elements you will have bigger problems elsewhere.
First of all Ford, can we please get full screen CarPlay? Second, can you at least not make it worse? After getting the latest Power-Up 2.3.1 I noticed that CarPlay is now surrounded by an ugly black box. Also, one time after starting up the Bronco logo load screen was peering through the...
My experience and advice after upgrading 5 B&O speakers. Doing kick panels next and considering sub + amp.

May be related to the doors being removed. Several folks (including me) get all of those alerts when starting up with the doors off. Parking brake is engaged but after disengaging and driving off everything goes back to normal and seems to work ok.
I can 100% confirm that simply replacing the B&O speakers with aftermarket ones makes a huge improvement. The key is to choose a speaker with the highest sensitivity rating possible. This is because the factory amp only puts out so many watts and a speaker with a higher sensitivity rating will...
I went with Hertz DCX 100.3 as well. Huge improvement but a tad bright and harsh in the highs. Probably because I essentially added 3 new tweeters with the center and rears and the DSP is therefore miscalibrated now. Still a big improvement.
I’m considering upgrading the kick panels next. Can...
Thanks for posting. So is that the measured output of the stock speakers using a mic or the actual signal from the head unit?
If it’s just the signal it proves the point that we’re starting with a non-ideal input to the amp and new system. From what I understand DSPs and EQs are pretty good at...
Great post. Any idea how bad the signal is out of the Ford head unit? I understand it’s tuned to cut frequencies from the stock speakers (especially from the rear and quarter panel speakers up front).
DSP can only overcome so much if you don’t have a full signal to work with.
Sure did. Figured that was the main culprit.
UPDATE: I stand corrected. I got everything BUT the backside of the main seal between the glass and tailgate. I lubed it while it was up and missed that part. Thanks for the reminder! Seems to have fixed it for now.
This is the official lubricant recommended by Ford in their Technical Service Bulletin to fix this. It’s a silicone grease called Krytox…

I’m having the same issue. Removed the spare and spare tire carrier and determined the noise is coming from the rear glass. No ratttle while driving with it up. As soon as I close it it rattles like crazy. Applied silicone spray to all rubber and areas of contact. Didn’t help.
It’s been doing...
I’m laying on my back on the floor looking up into the glovebox area with the glovebox removed. It is mounted behind the passenger airbag above where the glovebox would be. Super easy install with plenty of room up there.
Thanks for nothing. I was blissfully ignorant of this until you pointed it out! I have the same problem on my driver side rear door. That’s despite having door edge guard ppf.
