All good questions. Yes I just cut off the cigarette lighter and kept the fuse. I ran the black and red wires together and grounded the black wire on one of the factory grounding bolts near the aux wires.
No kit required. I ran the wires from above the glovebox over the footwell (behind radio) to drivers side and ran through the gromet in the firewall to the aux wiring location. Just connected to an aux switch. Works fine. No need to connect directly to the battery.
What controls were you unable to use? Fade? Balance? I want to add an amp for just the front left right and kick panels. Wouldnāt think this would disable any controls.
Itās probably the rear glass rubbing on the seals. Try treating the rear door and glass seals with Silicone spray. Mine was very noisy and this fixed it.
Common problem. Mine did it from day 1. Silicon spray on all seals as mentioned should help. It eventually stopped working for me and I applied Krytox silicone grease. Will last longer.
I still get occasional popping sound from the glass (hinges?) but the other noise is gone.
Half way through my round trip from Houston to Ouray, CO and Iāve seen 2 faults. The first was when shifting on the fly from 4H to 2H while transitioning from dirt to pavement and coming to a stop. Got the service soon and driveline error warning.
Shortly after I got the check engine light and...
I think weāll have to wait until the next update and hope they catch it. Probably just a sloppy UI bug in the latest update. Surely a graphic designer didnāt sign off on that.
I heard those sounds long before installing the controller. Not sure if Iām hearing the same things you are but the Bronco has so many automated systems. It is always on even when youāre not driving. Sounds like pumps priming and other solenoid type sounds.
Did you connect the Key 200.4 to the outputs of the B&O amp or directly to the harness from the radio? I would think you could connect it to the B&O amp outputs and still be able to use the controls.
It would be simple to allow the right side panel to collapse like it does on the Ford Nav screen. Would allow more screen real estate for the CarPlay section.
Iāve seen this stated in multiple threads but I donāt think itās necessarily true. From what I understand you can use an amp with a DSP like an Audio Control D-6.1200 and run it off of the high level speaker outputs from the factory B&O amp. Wouldnāt this allow you to maintain balance and fade...
You should also consider the Hertz 100.3s for their high sensitivity. I replaced my B&O speakers with them. Details here:
