I hardly go a day without seeing news that someone's electric vehicle has become (literally) a dumpster fire; I see electric cars as the "New Coke".

Great to have your insight. Are you by chance following the thread of the @60 2.7s with blown valves? What's your guess on whether this might become a recall?
Especially since they have known about this problem for months...and have declined to issue a recall. I can only think of 2 reasons for this:
1. with all the other financial hits they are taking, they don't want to stress their stock price
2. the actual valves required to replace the defective...

Evidently, Ford has an unusually high number of fires to put out. And the way corporate accounting works, even though costs might not be immediately incurred, announcing a recall triggers creation of a financial reserve fund which is an immediate hit to profits.
