A thought I had - and it may have been shared before.
It will really help to convince myself and others if we can get some interior sound decibel readings once you have a production ready top to test.
If its even marginally quieter than the soft top I'd be in lol
For anyone who who wants to install roof lights, a few lessons learned.
1. Drilling the hole to access the pre ran wire is easy
2. If your bracket doesn’t have a hole to accommodate… we’ll you’re left with a sloppy look as I currently have. I plan on cleaning it up when it’s not freezing outside...
Thought crossed my mind as well. There is an underground garage in Detroit that I occasionally use - that sasquatch on its own already comes close to the ceiling - not sure how this will go now!
When you say "safari bar", if you mean roof lights, be SUPER careful if you are going to be wiring them to the pre-ran wire up there. You've got to pull some interior plastic to access it and uhhh...
Let's just say I didn't have a great time.
haha!
Good catch - I was too excited to get them mounted and once I was done my girlfriend pointed out the very same thing. She made it out, but I kid you not the space between me hitting the ceiling and not was about 0.25"
Alrighty, just had a 1.5hr trip on the highway.
75mph avg speed.
No whistling - but def wind noise. Lots of people won't like it, however, I imagine with a hard top it would be much better, as much of the noise was being cause by the lights creating choppy air which vibrated the front of the...
sounds like you live somewhere with a nice climate - Detroit isn't so kind to soft tops.
Cold weather and much much much easier to have your vehicle broken into
Yes sir!
I was one of the earlier posters about this - and of course at the time of posting I got mad shit for saying it was unacceptable.
Few months later and everyone is having the same issue
As most of us know Advanced Fiberglass is going to be producing an aftermarket hardtop.
I've already decided that I will be purchasing one as the OEM hardtop appears as if it will never be available and honestly the aftermarket option may be superior quality wise.
Shipping is going to be...
Not a huge fan of the stock location either - not for any cosmetic reasons, but when it snows heavily, it piles up on the tire and covers the break light entirely.
Just got her up to 40mph - its a struggle to go faster right now with the snow storm... everyone is crawling.. there seems to be some sort of sound caused by the bar.... though I would not call it a whistle more like a groan.
If its awful on the highway, I will uninstall and wait until I get a...
