  1. New correct dipstick (here's part number) solves 2.7L 7-quarts engine oil capacity / maximum fill amount mystery! 🕵🏻‍♂️

I’ve been told that during normal use, running a quart low wouldn’t be noticeable other than slightly reducing oil service life… so not like Ford going either way will put many Broncos at risk during their lifespans. I just want to know the original engineering intention, and that seems to be 7...
  2. New correct dipstick (here's part number) solves 2.7L 7-quarts engine oil capacity / maximum fill amount mystery! 🕵🏻‍♂️

I haven't been following this conversation since it was universally agreed that the proper capacity for the 2.7L was 7 quarts (confirmed supposedly directly by engineering via various dealer reps on these forums). I ordered the MB3Z-6750-F when it was discovered that A. this stick accurately...
  3. Alternator 100% destroyed from mudding

Agreed, it’s not obvious from these images that the placement of the alternator in the 2.3 is any or much better in this scenario.
  4. is there any way with Forscan or whatever else, to disable the "keep your hands on the wheel" warning?

I’ve never experienced any of this. But I’ve never turned LDW/LKAS on. Must be linked?
  5. What's everyone doing with their antenna?

Does the Cravenspeed Stubby allow you to pull the passenger wiper out to the service position without hitting it? This annoys me with the OEM antenna, though maybe there's some particular angle I have to pull the wiper out at that I'm not getting right...
  6. New correct dipstick (here's part number) solves 2.7L 7-quarts engine oil capacity / maximum fill amount mystery! 🕵🏻‍♂️

I thought we had people earlier in this thread with photos showing -B and -F were slightly different? Maybe not, I’m on my iPhone and it’s painful to manually go back scrolling. I thought both registered a 7qt fill better than the original factory dipstick (neither showed it north of the max...
  7. 2022 2.3 vs. 2.7 reliability

Both and neither, but I’m happy with the 2.7 for now It’s like asking if potato chips or fries are healthier
  8. Ford Pass App - Oil Life

Mine randomly went to 0% today in the app, doesn't seem possible given I changed the oil and reset the minder ~1800mi ago...
  9. 2.7L Oil Change Tips + Replacement Drain Plugs

It’s so hard to find the oem plug locally or with free shipping. Kinda surprising given so many people recommend replacing at _every_ oil change!
  10. What's up with Jeep guys

I live in Western Washington too and haven’t experienced anything like this once in 11 months of ownership. Kinda strange to imagine that you’re in the same place yet both you and your wife have had so many of these experiences!
  11. Do you regret your color choice?

No regret about cactus gray in 10 months of ownership! Have seen quite a few fellow Broncos on the road and have yet to feel any pangs of regret or lust toward the other build!
  12. Ford Pride Bronco

    Love it ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
  13. New correct dipstick (here's part number) solves 2.7L 7-quarts engine oil capacity / maximum fill amount mystery! 🕵🏻‍♂️

This site is a good source for crowdsourced tips and anecdotes, but I would never regard it as an official comms channel for Ford engineering. Some of it is helpful info, but all of it should be taken with a certain amount of skepticism. Sure, one thread was dedicated to some Ford contact...
  14. Bronco Team Engineering Confirms 7.0 Quarts for 2.7L Engine Oil Change is Correct

The question is… did those of us that filled only to the max fill hole on the original stick cause any damage? I’ve apparently been running ~0.825 qt short for 2k miles since I decided to heed the owners manual text that stated specifically to not run above the max fill hole, knowing full well...

  16. Now You Want It

I’d walk away. If there was even 0.001% chance that the customer still wanted it, they should have just stayed in line and made the decision at delivery. $100+dealer deposit is but a minuscule price to pay to keep the option around if there was any chance they actually wanted it. Seems the...
