I’ve been told that during normal use, running a quart low wouldn’t be noticeable other than slightly reducing oil service life… so not like Ford going either way will put many Broncos at risk during their lifespans.
I just want to know the original engineering intention, and that seems to be 7...
I haven't been following this conversation since it was universally agreed that the proper capacity for the 2.7L was 7 quarts (confirmed supposedly directly by engineering via various dealer reps on these forums).
I ordered the MB3Z-6750-F when it was discovered that A. this stick accurately...
Does the Cravenspeed Stubby allow you to pull the passenger wiper out to the service position without hitting it? This annoys me with the OEM antenna, though maybe there's some particular angle I have to pull the wiper out at that I'm not getting right...
I thought we had people earlier in this thread with photos showing -B and -F were slightly different? Maybe not, I’m on my iPhone and it’s painful to manually go back scrolling.
I thought both registered a 7qt fill better than the original factory dipstick (neither showed it north of the max...
I live in Western Washington too and haven’t experienced anything like this once in 11 months of ownership.
Kinda strange to imagine that you’re in the same place yet both you and your wife have had so many of these experiences!
No regret about cactus gray in 10 months of ownership!
Have seen quite a few fellow Broncos on the road and have yet to feel any pangs of regret or lust toward the other build!
This site is a good source for crowdsourced tips and anecdotes, but I would never regard it as an official comms channel for Ford engineering. Some of it is helpful info, but all of it should be taken with a certain amount of skepticism.
Sure, one thread was dedicated to some Ford contact...
The question is… did those of us that filled only to the max fill hole on the original stick cause any damage?
I’ve apparently been running ~0.825 qt short for 2k miles since I decided to heed the owners manual text that stated specifically to not run above the max fill hole, knowing full well...

I’d walk away. If there was even 0.001% chance that the customer still wanted it, they should have just stayed in line and made the decision at delivery. $100+dealer deposit is but a minuscule price to pay to keep the option around if there was any chance they actually wanted it. Seems the...
