That wrangler width is at the outside of the tires not the body. The body is more like 60”.
An Early Bronco is 67”, so the new one will be larger than either.
Maybe you’re just exaggerating but my early bronco can fit a lot more than a briefcase behind the back seat.
And aren’t we expecting the new Bronco to be bigger than an EB?
I understand the benefit of a diesel in a vehicle that is heavily loaded frequently. Exactly why I have one in my Super Duty. I also run the Powerstroke because it is significantly more powerful than the gas offering.
But the Bronco is not likely to be loaded heavy and infrequently at that...
That is on the current gen platform. The Bronco will be the first vehicle on the next gen platform.
Absolutely no reason why Ford would reuse any of the body work from the Troller like the video suggests.
My intent is not to knock the Raptor, but to point out that it needs a 74” track width to achieve 13” of front suspension travel.
Shrink that down to a Ranger (61”) or JL (64”) track width and how much suspension travel will it have?
I suppose if the frame was super narrow (goodbye V-6...
With so many good gas options I can’t understand why anyone would want the diesel.
In the Wrangler, yes, but all their gassers pale in comparison to the ecoboosts.
The Ranger will undoubtedly be IFS.
Most customers will probably be happier with IFS and Ford will try to convince the rest of us that the Bronco Raptor IFS is something special.
I think Ford intends to compete with Jeep on the beach and on the street, not Moab or the Rubicon.
I just don’t...
Just seems like they can’t build enough of them. EcoSport, Edge, Escape, last gen Explorer, baby bronco. I’m not sure why there need to be so many.
Wouldn’t surprise me if a whole bunch of 6th gen bronco owners complained about handling and nvh to the point that the new off road worthy Bronco...
There have been about a billion midsize mild off-roaders with IFS built in the last couple decades: 4runner, xterra, fj, older explorers, s10 blazers, vehicross, Durango, rodeo, pathfinder, h3... Go buy one!
As for SFA midsizers, the off-road crowd is left with the Wrangler and older...
Nope the engine is in the back where the RZR still has more travel. My point is that a significantly narrower vehicle can achieve more wheel travel with independent suspension.
Maybe if Ford would invest as much time on the suspension as they do on bs door and roof patents they could actually...
I would bet that all 80-96 F-150s and Broncos have more suspension travel than a Raptor.
I’m not saying Raptors aren’t cool, and I certainly wouldn’t mind owning one, but I think the Raptor IFS is setting the bar pretty low for the new Bronco.
The Ranger Raptor has a whopping 9.3” of front...
I don’t understand why people think the Raptor IFS is anything special. It’s just a regular F-150 suspension with wider A-arms and some fancy shocks. The increased travel comes from the extra width only.
Nearly every side by side on the market, even the 50” ones, have more suspension travel...
I’ll take a JLUR with early bronco styling, and a 2.7 or better. Would prefer 5.0 for nostalgias sake, but the 2.7s actually perform better at my altitude.
Probably wouldn’t remove the top or doors, maybe just the fronts on Moab trips.
Manual tranny would be neat, but I think I’d stick with...
