From my current cars (BMWs) wiring goes from car to kick panel, then kick panel to tweeter (in this case would be dash). Seems like a pretty common wiring setup.
Speakers are easy, my biggest questions relate to the amp. Is there a standalone amp or is it buried in the head unit? Assuming...
I always keep stock stuff packed up in storage, who the hell knows if you ever have an issue someday always nice to go back to factory if there's ever a warranty repair.
Those still require some DIY to pin and insert the wires right, then crimp on the appropriate connectors on the other end? I've inserted pins into connectors before it's fiddly and kind of a PITA to do for just a few pieces. Would be happy to pay someone a premium to get everything ready to go...
Yep, that's the one! Was a nice setup (aside from no auto 4x4). I took it a few exits up the highway and back... I wasn't concerned about off road performance, 10x more capable than I need. Manners at speed for a non-Sasquatch V6 was my main concern along with cabin noise... I take a lot of work...
One near me did the same, I have a Chapman reservation but Koch 33 is close(ish) and they got almost my exact build BD 2.7 2-Door. Called them up, they were super nice 9A the next morning they tossed me the keys and told me to have fun. I was very transparent about having a reservation elsewhere...
There may also be room in the kick panel (unlikely in dash) for some Dynamat. If you want to save a few bucks the HVAC insulation stuff from your local home improvement store does basically the same thing.
I found some on eBay but I’m 1. New to Ford and 2. Unsure what translates from current vehicles to new Bronco. This is the sort of thing I’d like to get…...
Anybody have a link to the right wiring adapters to buy? For my BMW I know there was an eBay guy who was selling the female connector with wires that would connect to the aftermarket speakers - no modification to stock stuff needed. Assume there’s something similar for Ford I’m just not sure...
Congrats and great to hear you’re supporting such a good cause.
PLEASE do some content comparing Bronco vs Defender on road too!!! while off road is obviously critical, on road is where many of us spend most of our time.
My only real gripe is the carpet on the rear of the back seats. Drove a Defender the other day and the rubber back is much better. That would be a welcome change.
Would be nice to know they actually cost, but freight to dealer would likely eat any discount they could offer people. Soft tops being f*cked would be an easier problem to solve.
That's fair. If you buy the twill soft top afterwards from Ford it's what $2,200? And if you upgrade to the MIC at order that's $695? So you could - if tops were all 100% OK now - buy both for ~$3K? Gesture of good will, and probably not far off cost, ship everyone soft now if they want and sell...
Perhaps a dumb question, but I have a convertible where the tops were defective and they were all replaced subsequently with a recall so...
The crappy tops, are they somehow fixing them? If not, aside from the back end logistics issues, why not just ship the Broncos with the structurally sound...
If you happen to remove the roof rack, please provide a comparison of wind noise with and without at highway speed. I drove your exact setup at the dealer a few days ago and it was pretty loud on the highway. Wonder what removing the rack would do.
I wouldn’t care about noise but I need to take...
If you want to speed up (albeit using marginally more product) if really dirty do foam soak rinse first but either way then:
Use your micro mitt but instead of two bucket just foam the whole car, do a section with the mitt, spray the mitt clean with your hose, then mitt the next section. I...
